Ok, ok, I've got the mini bug bad, and I don't mean volkswagen. I'm an art director doing some research for a new job I might be getting with a publishing company. My research consisted of reviewing several issues of European Car magazine. Well, there were numerous articles throughout about Mini's and how to hop them up. I've always been intrigued by the little pocket rockets, but this "research" made me want one of my own in a BAD WAY. Man, if I wasn't on the uphill slope of my current car payment situation, I would go out and buy one today (probably wait a few hours since it is 1:00 in the morning). All I keep thinking about is zipping around in a new MCS with the John Cooper Works kit pushing 200 bhp. I can't even imagine what that feels like, but I want it!

So, I'm about 6', 210 lbs. Do you think I'll fit?

Can a non-owner join SCMM?

Welcome to MCO dconrey! you are in the right place to feed that MINI jones!

just because you don't have a MINI doesn't mean that you can't join SCMM! everyone is welcome. In fact we have an event this weekend and there is no better place to come and check a MINI out!

You'll fit fine. my dad is 6'3, 250 and fits without any problems. You can also go down to your local MINI dealer and check one out. Heck, if you do it right, you can probably test drive one (although I doubt with the JCW kit), but I highly recommend against doing that! I was in the same situation as you, but still place my order a week after my first test drive .

Don't forget to check out the Perf/Mods threads either. lots of info there on the MC and the MCS.

Thanks for the invite. I would go in a heartbeat, but my girl and I are running off to Palm Springs for the weekend. I'll be back for the next event though.

I hear there is a really great drive between Palm Springs and Desert Hot Springs. We're going to check it out this weekend. I'll report back next week.

Thanks for the welcome.

D.

As a soon to be member, just wondering about a highway 33 North mission, or even a route 1 drive. I haven't checked all of your previous journeys so I don't know if you've covered those yet. Hope to see more fellow MINI'ers in the days to come.
