Hello all you Mini owners.

I live in Escondido, CA. (San Diego) and every friday night in Escondido there is a huge gathering called Crusing Grand. I have been going to it for years and it's huge fun. It hosts a ton of older classic cars, hot rods, rat rods, new cars, and almost anything with a motor and wheels. I have a 1995 Bronco and last seasion I gathered a big group and we would go cruze up and down for a bit and park and walk around to go see all the cars and grab a bite. It's a big deal in the town. Last friday was opening night and it was HUGE. The Good Guys show was that weekend so there was a ton of cars.

So I want to gather up all the local Mini owners and show up to represent what we drive. It's every friday night so depending on who is interested, we can pick a good night. I plan to all meet up at my house, very close to grand, and all caravan together. Drive up and down Grand a bit and then park and have a meet. Take a look at all the awesome cars and grab dinner or some beers. Kids are also more than welcome.

I'm replying to **BUMP** this up. As you know, West Coast MINI is planning on having quite a few cars join you on the chosen day. It'd be nice to get some others to join as well!

 

Well the date will be the 18th of this month! First big gathering of Mini's I have tried. It just happnes to be British Invasion night at Grand anyway. What better night then to show up with 15 to 20 Mini's. Anyone in the SD area or OC area you should try to make it. We are meeting at my place at 5 and heading to grand around 5:45 or 6. Anyone is also more then welcome to meet us all there. Please PM me for my address and contact info if you want to go.

 

Hi Bang -- My husband and I live in Bonsall and are supposed to take delivery of our Mini this weekend. If we actually get her before the date, you can count us in! Cruzin Grand is a lot of fun!

Cool deal! There are quite a few people going it seems. We should have a cool turnout.

 

Looks like we won't be there. We had trouble getting up to the Park-n-Ride off of Pala Road on a Wednesday in time because of traffic, so trying to get to Escondido on a Friday night is probably impossible for us (unless I get off of work early). Maybe next time.

If it really matters to you to be there, you'll happen to get "sick" around two in the afternoon so that you guys can make it up in time.

Well I found out that this month isn't the British car night. But we are all going to meet up anyway. July 18th is the British car night for sure. I was told a wrong day. Anyways. If you cant make it to this one then plan to try to make it to the big one in 2 months. I think we will still have a good turn out on the 18th.

 

It doesn't seem to be looking good for us to make it this week. The dealer has "lost" our car and no one knows where it is or when we are going to get it.

 

Lost your car hua? You should ***** at them. Maybe they will add some free goodies for the trouble.

Yes, Brecht. Up until now, I have had nothing but great things to say.

My husband dropped in at the dealer yesterday [we have been getting conflicting stories of "yes the car's here", "no it will be here tomorrow", "who told you the car's here?"] to try to get a straight story. He ended up talking to one of the managers and our MA together. Showed him the car was still at the VDC and they were just waiting for the shipping company to decide to bring it down.

I've never heard of a business letting the shipping company decide what cargo ships when.

 

I know people have had good things to say about Brecht. But when I was looking to get a used Mini they sure screwed up things with me and my family. They seem to think since they are the only Mini dealer in San Diego that they can just deal with having crappy customer service. Hope you get your car quickly. Push for something extra for the trouble. Maybe stripes or something cool.
