I was at the air races myself yesterday, but I too was in the backseat of another car. I only saw a few Mini's, but then again I was not paying much attention to the cars around me since I was looking up in the sky most of the day anyway.

 

Spotted a blue/white mini in a parking garage on brea blvd. Got a wave from the passanger.

 

In the parking lot of Redondo Beach Union HS was a very nice DS/W MCS complete with a NAM and Webb Motorsports (?) sticker.

I was in line waiting for the Lobster Festival-mobile to arrive.

 

I spotted a bunch of MININUTS at The Streets of Willow today. I was bummed though, none of them waved , I guess they were too busy driving.

 

I waved. The one finger wave. At the 911 Turbo that kept getting in my way.

Who has the PINK MINI in the San Diego area??? I spotted it yesterday on Miramar Rd - I was driving by in my Mom's car - Mom actually spotted it first..

I'm still recovering from an overload of wave backs from yesterday...

IB/W MCS w/stripes in Placentia waved. Then a cool classic blue Mini that was two lanes over waved when we were stopped.

Later, I got off a goofy, half-window open wave (the kind where your elbow bends a wierd way) to a surprised MINI driver going in the opposite direction.

My wife looked at me and said, when people buy new MINIs do the dealers warn them about people like you?

And this morning, I parked next to the mystery R56.

 

The other day, I was going East on Bastanchury (sp?) and getting ready to turn left onto Harbor Blvd. and this 04' MCS comes around the corner with these two teenage asian dudes in there. They didn't wave.. but damn near drove off the road staring at my car. They still had the Dealer Paper-Plates on the car so I knew that they were new to the Mini Cooper scene.

Last night saw a red mini on the 15frwy heading to the 210. I got close to the car and waved but I believe the driver couldn't see me because of my tinted windows. Oh well. Still need to find more mini's! Its a quest!

That may have been one of the MOLA Mini's - MOLA and SD Minis had a run to the Peterson Museum on Sunday to see the (really cool) microcar exhibit there.

 

I see a chile red MC everytime I exit off the 5N onto LaJolla Village Drive, on the right hand side. Also, saw a DS/B MCS on the 5N right before exiting with, what looked like, Anthracite rims. That guy didn't wave though.

 

 

I saw several 5 South heading back towards La Jolla in the Oceanside / Carlsbad area yesterday. I saw a PW - new from Crevier (same paper plates as me). Also a CB/Blk convertible with a lady behind it. Several others, but those 2 stuck out in my mind most.

 

Had a new (looked like) pepper white mini pull up next to us on the 605north. It was a good little moment.

Does anyone who reads this thread own the Electrib Blue/ White MCS at Nogales HS in West Covina? I see it every so often as I pass the school, and around town.

 

I saw about 35 to 40 MINIs today at The Waffle Lady in San Clemente.

 

I believe you spied the "WCM & SSOCMCC Meet & Eat"... I couldn't make it due to the pesky day job. :(

 

That 'twas us. I believe there were just over 40 MINIs present. Was a good time You could have come in to say, "hello". Very fun bunch of peeps.

Got a wave from a girl in a BRG mini today... She gave me her parking spot and I made it to class on time, woot!

 

I had a first in almost a year of motoring - someone else spotted me first, honked and waved (DS at Crown Valley near the 5) last Saturday late morning. I of course waved back! This made my smile even larger - thanks!

 

I hoped that was me, but I don't recall honking and waving at MINI on Crown Valley (though I do drive that stretch from time to time).

I did wave at a PS/B MCS on the 5 north through Camp Pendelton. We were going the same direction when we acknowledged each other with friendly waves. I then followed this MINI in the fast lane for a few miles, but I moved over to let this Honda Accord pass. This same Honda Accord tailgated this same MINI for several more miles; the Accord tapped it's brake a few times following this MINI even while the other MINI stayed ahead at "very fast speeds" in the fast lane - the Accord could have moved over to the 'slower' lanes to pass the fellow MINI driver but instead decided to ride this MINI's tail - pissed me off .
