It was a lot of fun hanging with all the MCS guys, too. I was teasing Bar10girl that I was going to put on a skirt so I could be the fastest female, but she beat me by 4+ seconds.

This was the first track event I've ever driven in, so I was actually quite pleased with my times. My first timed run I suffered brain fade and forgot the configuration of the chicane at the far end of the track, which cost me time. I also tip-toed around the right curve just before the fast section, so I was late accelerating. My first run was just under 97 seconds. The 2nd run was 92.450 and my last run was 91.747. So I was happy that I improved about 5 seconds from the 1st to the 3rd runs. One of our E46 M3 customers with a lot of experience was just under 87 seconds, so I was happy being about 4 seconds behind him. I learned a lot in just one day, and it was an absolute blast to drive my car close to its limits.

One thing I realized is it's tough being in a 3400 pound car and in the M modified class. I spoke to one guy that trailered a full-race E30 M3 that he said weighed 2100 pounds. If I stripped the car I could get it below 3000 pounds. Then the HP and TQ advantage would probably start to make a difference. For now, the biggest improvement is with the driver.

I was working the track while the Minis were out there, so I was playing cheerleader for Karen, Fred, Richard, etc. The Minis running R-comps would be tough to beat. The MCS is just a great autocross car.

I'm totally hooked, so I'm looking forward to seeing everyone there next time.

Bob

Another pic

Sorry, there weren't more Mini pics. I was out working the track while the Mini guys/gals were driving and rules are NO cameras on the track.

I DID get a pic of OctaneGuy with his flat tire. Hey, Richard, it was only flat on the bottom!!

Bob
