Where has everyone gone? I guess I shouldn't talk, because I haven't posted here in a while too.

Is anyone doing anything fun over this next weekend? I know I'm going to be doing some wall painting on Friday. Hopefully I'll be done by the weekend.

I was thinking the same thing Dom. I don't remember the last time I posted....2 weeks ago? There are weeks when I don't even look on MCO (aka NAM) anymore. Is it loosing the luster? I don't know.

Things have changed. There are what, 3 or 4 other MINI forums now? Things have slowed all the way around. No new parts I just have to have. I guess I need to be proactive and keep myself busy.

Long Live MINI Mania!!!

There's a few of us who're hanging out over on Russ' forum : LinuxGroupie forums. But still, it seems rather dead around here.

did someone say fun run? *perks up*

hey mark, did you get your walkie talkie's back?

what's new here:

car's in the shop today...geting v36 (finally)....fixing miscellaneous things:

1. squeaky brakes
2. seat belt
3. missing a screw from my engine
4. and they're fixing my bad wheel (the one causing me all the vibration headaches).....

i ordered a 17x7 donut and kuhmo 215/45 as a spare wheel/tire and i'm having jerseygirl make me a black bag for it with an electric blue stripe going diagonally across a la the ///M emblem

Haf

Good to see you chime in.

Yes I got the walkie talkies back but Coop has one from Vegas, I think. Coop??

We need to plan a fun run soon, we can work on dates.

Also, to all. I have contacted Nuzzo Motorsports about getting something together for the Grand Am race at PIR on 4/16-18. More soon (hopefully).

Quick question, how can you watch TV or a DVD while driving?

I may have a cure for squeek brakes. A post on NAM regarding this issue prompted me to go to NAPA and buy some "stuff" you put onthe back of the pads to stop the squeek. Mine are really loud, starting to drive me crazy (er)

Which tire was it?
Did you feel the vibration from your steering wheel?

Hey all ... Been exploring phoenix since we moved here a little over a month ago. Down for a fun run anytime! (Not a 500 mile one though )

So much to see and do while the weather is good!

Kalvin this as been a pain for the last six weeks trying to figure out. i've had the car balanced six times by three different places. no one could figure it out. goodyear even sent me a new tire to play around with....finally, i noticed a wheel was rolling differently when put up next to another wheel on a balancing machine.

the steering isn't vibrating now only b/c i moved the wheel to the rear. but at high speeds, you can notice the vibration in the car.

i hope they can fix it!

We always start small but by the end of the day, we end up driving 3-400...it seems. It's been worth it with some of the routes we've picked up and some fantastic scenery we've been able to find.

Glad to hear your v36 upgrade is working nicely!

You know what sux... I thought I had it already, because I had taken the car into Universal MINI in LA to get it installed. The car didn't feel any different after they "upgraded" it though.

But apparently they didn't even upgrade it... Bunch of yahoos! The car feels amazing..

My next quest is to neutralize every rattle in the car. Gonna spend a day with some felt, driving around trying to isolate rattles and muffle them out!

That's the best idea I've heard this year!

I hate rattles, they drive me up the wall, especially when I can't figure out where they're coming from. aaaargh, I hate rattles!!!

Hafid,

I had a similar problem, except my steering would vibrate really bad. I took it to a tire shope and got it balanced and rotated a few times and it still would shake then finally the mechanic found that under neith the car was a torn lower control arm bushing. So, i brought it in yesterday and got it fixed, but the steering wheel still vibrates a little.

Kalvin, sounds nasty! I don't think I have that issue as I noticed moving the tire wheel to the back of the car instantly removed the problem.

Update from the dealer - they're keeping the car till Thursday! I need two screws for my intercooler cover that rattled out and I also need a new gear stick and mount...(mine was rattling in 1st and 3rd over 4K rpms)....it all comes in on thursday so i'm just having them keep the car.

I'm beating the **** out of a Mazda 6 right now....thing has NO POWER! Honestly the Cooper could kill it! ...but it's a comfy and roomy ride...

Mine shakes pretty badly when I am going up-hill in 3rd or 4th. Is this something you noticed? and if so, how did u get the dealership to fix it. They always tell me that there is nothing wrong with my car!!!

We went for a test drive. it's actually been doing it since i've had my car but only now has it bugged me enough to get it fixed. it happens every time and it doesn matter what incline i'm on....as long as i'm over 4K it rattles in 1st and 3rd so it was easy to show them.

we are getting closer it is amaizing how little even the techs at mini dealers know about these cars. you guys should see my poor car it is torn to pieces in my garage i will get some pics up soon. she should be good by this weekend hopefully
the problem is that is is a two person job and my buddy and i work opposite schedules so time is the biggest factor.
