Well, they still have the car. My rattling gearbox (in 1st and 3rd after 4K rpms) is apparently not quite fixable at this point. Mike told me they talked to "mini engineering" and MINI USA is aware of this issue but has yet to come out with a solution.

But to back up Mike, he's really annoyed himself that they can't fix it. Wants to keep the car another day (this'll be the 5th day) and see how well they can tone down the rattle.

I miss my car

 

Dealer is now keeping the car over the weekend. MINI Engineering is sending new shifter cables to see if that'll help. They arrive on Monday.
