diverter valve problem. Tear in Diaphragm
I have a 2009 Mini Cooper S pretty much all stock. It has 55k miles.
So i ordered the Alta spring upgrade for my diverter valve. So i get the diverter valve off and i notice it has a pretty huge tear in the diverter valve diaphragm. (pics attached)
Now in the past few weeks ive had limp mode come on a few times, but my torque app isnt recognizing any codes that come with it. The car runs great, and never seems to have problems, expect for the few limp modes in the past few weeks and it seems to come on, under heavy throttle (getting on highway etc..) Also, in the torque app, my car is only getting a max of 8 psi of Boost.. and you have to really gotta work hard to get it up there..
So I was just wondering if the Diverter valve diaphragm tear could be the source of all my issues.
Thanks!

I've seen this more than a few times for the MINI's. It's a very common thing for VW's as well. At the old shop I worked at, for a permanent fix, we'd recommend the Forge DV. Via Forge, "The most common complaint on the OEM solenoid valve is a split diaphragm preventing the valve from opening fully, or not at all." Can read more here.

Yes that is a common problem causing limp mode. You will need a complete new diverter valve.

Or use your electrical part with all new guts

Yes, I really do love their products and that DV was one of the most popular items we sold.
