I am sorry I missed the MINISpec last weekend. Can someone who attended fill me in on the weekend. Also, were "street MINI's" allowed to run on the track. Is the next race October 25-26??

Thanks

I was out there and had a great time! There were like 4 spec Mini's running. I signed up to do the NASA high performance driving school and had a blast. Even more fun than auto-Xing. I had two 20 minute sessions with an instructor to show me the line and then I was off on my own. This was not a competition, just lots of high speed driving. No passing allowed in the turns. The track is super. no walls to hit and plenty wide. I was hitting 95MHP on the long straight. My Mini with it's coil-over springs and bigger rear bar handled perfect. There were two other Mini's running stock. Should be more fun when it cools off. I can't make it next month but I will try for November.

th3118 thanks for the update. I was with the ProAutosports group our at Firebird last weekend running the West Track. Great fun but my car needs some mods for future track days. I really want to run AMP so look for me out there. May go in October if I can get brakes, sway bars wheel/tires done in time. Glad to hear you were out there and running laps. We should work on getting others to join in at future events. Thanks again

Between race practice, qualifying and the races NASA has high performance driving instruction. AMP is a great place to learn as th3118 said, it is difficult to hurt your car out there. I just started spec racing and was amazed at the handling of these cars. Doug from Audi UAG has these things dialed in. Hope to see you out there in October or December.

Marc, Doug Chernis at Audi UAG preps all the cars for the spec series. Go figure! He did all the suspension, brakes, etc. Great guy.

Next event is Oct 25-26 at AMP. Mini North Scottsdale does all the modifications on the Mini. As much or as little as you want. Call Ali at 480 538 3978.
