OLD TOWN
Well Friday Night Cruise was very interesting. First I arrived at 6:00pm to sign up and they were'nt going to let me in because I did not have enough exterior modifications. They needed four mods on the car. I told them it was an exoctic and had many modifications to it. This guy said he never seen a New MINI yet. So I asked him how did he know then about the mods I did. He said they are looking for hydrolics kits, neon, after market rims, etc. Could you imagine hydrolics on a MINI?? Well I then got out of my MINI and nicely told the man that I drove over 300 miles to attend this and another show on Saturday. He said he would ask the boss. The boss said OK let him in. Well to make a long story short. The tourist at OLD TOWN were all over my car. It was the hit of the show. The boss who runs it came over to me and said I have not seen this kind of reaction to a car ever. Would I be back next week. Can you belive this guy? Shortly after that another MINI arrived to take some of the crowd away from mine. Thanks God for HollyRN and Dolly for showing up. I was getting tired of beating the people off my MINI. (Just kidding) Over all it was a great experiance watching everyone enjoying my MINI. And I told the boss I would be back sometime soon but 300 miles to drive every Friday nite was a bit much.
Yep, the cruise was a bit 'different'. The tricked out Mini-Vans were errr....unusual. Thanks to Holly and her dad for letting me cut in line. And I no we all stopped mulitple times to allow folks to take pictures of our MINIs
Hey see you at the next meet Mr.Rock..I mean Pebble.
As for Old Town....
I was really let down at the attitude we received when we arrived from the guy up front. I hope they change their policies... We definately got the attention. Its bad when you are sitting on a bench less than five feet from your MINI, and you can't see your MINI from the people gawking at it. Geez at the people wanting their pics with it. I should have charged admission....I coulda bought an intake or at least some neon's (so they'd let me in again,) with the money I'd have earned!!
I ran into an old friend there, and him and his Focus buddies were totally giddy at getting so up close to a MINI. They said that they wanted us back...and so did soooo many other people!!
Best comment heard: <two older gentlemen walking along and arguing after admiring Dolly and leaving plenty of nose prints..>
guy 1: No, its not a MINI Cooper, Norm...Its a Cooper MINI!!
guy 2: Damnit, Ed, its a MINI Cooper!
guy 1: I know my stuff...its a Cooper MINI!!!
<they finally got far enough away that the arguing couldn't be heard>
