That is a good idea. How about we find a meeting place.......then Holly (or someone from Otown) can put together a map from the meeting place to I-drive. When we meet she can pass out the maps and we can motor together.
Lot M at downtown disney?? hehe... ya'll just let me know where. We could meet right off of I-drive at a shopping plaza right off of kirkman, but that would be a very short rally.
Tampa Bay MINI caravan???
Let's arrange to meet & caravan over together!
How about meeting at I4 & 579 (Mango/Seffner exit) which is the first exit east of I75? We could meet at the T/A truckstop. What time? 11:30AM?

Can I send my wife's best friend in our place because she and her hubby will be in Orlando that week while he attends a geek conference. She is going to have free time. By the way she is 42 and drop dead gorgeous. Since she does competitive fitness her body doesn't suck either.

Wondering how big the allotment of S is this month... hopeing to actually get a Vin number before I get too much older!

Okay, there's a strip mall/plaza on Kirkman Rd, right off of I-4...international market or something... They have an office depot, booksamillion, and a Sweet Tomatoes restaurant at the corner. Its about 2.5 mi. to Race Rock from here, and traffic wasn't too bad around 1 today. How does this sound? If we agree to meet here, what time? Just let me know
That sounds like a good place to meet. How about planning to meet around 1:30pm, that should give plenty of time to get to the Race Rock. I e-mailed Race Rock today to see if they can give any info, I'll let you know what I hear.

Alrighty...We'll meet behind Sweet Tomatoes between 1 and 1:30...then we'll motor on over to RaceRock. This thing is turning into something big...hehe. If anyone needs directions, check out http://www.floridamini.net.
Woohoo...over 20 MINIs...what a turnout! Brandon, the organizer, came over and thanked us for coming and said that now he wants a MINI...hehe. Anyways, he's going to keep in touch and he said he will definately invite us to any future meets. Hope everyone had a safe trip home
While it was gracious to invite the MINI group, frankly we don't need to glom on to the Beemer group. There were plenty of MINIs there and mostly we were ignored. Next we should organize the MINI owners and maybe schedule a joint get together with classic owners as we have something in common there. The one classic owner who came left early. He may have felt neglected or out of place. There needs to be some reason to get together, also. A drive, an event, a rally, anything.
First of all, I want to apologize for something that happened at the meet. Sue and I had started rounding people up to discuss the meet and the drive and all, and next thing I knew, MINIs were taking off. This wasn't planned...I wanted to thank everyone for coming and hand out maps for those who needed them and just talk about some things for a second...but that didn't happen, obviously. So I do apologize
Holly, thanks for getting us together. I didn't mean to sound ungrateful. I think you had a great turnout & cool retaurant. Wonder if anyone's interedted in going to Datona at the end of the month to watch MINIs compete in Grand Am race?

Nuzzo Motorsports Daytona Test Days a Success
GLEN HEAD, New York - Campaigning the first Mini Cooper S racing cars in Grand-Am Cup history, the newly formed Nuzzo Motorsports team is looking like top competitors for the 2003 ST1 season with a roaring success at Testing, held at Daytona Speedway this past weekend. The cars drew attention with impressive lap times and flawless performances. Driver Shane Lewis piloted the blue #21 Mini Cooper S to a best lap time of 02:15.279 with a speed of 94.73 MPH. Driving duties of the #21 and #20 cars were shared by Mike Bavaro, Eugene McGillycuddy and team owner Tony Nuzzo. "Our best lap times were good enough to qualify us on the pole at last February's race, and we would have been two seconds faster than the fastest race lap," said Nuzzo.
"Thanks to Habberstad Mini and our builder, Bodymotion, we were very pleased with the Minis' overall performance, although we did run into some expected minor problems," he added. "Considering these cars were built in just two months, that's a tremendous achievement for everyone on the team." "We're very pleased with the test results and the way the cars performed the first time out," said Bodymotion owner Mike Bavaro.
"The very light BBS wheels helped as did the KW suspension setup." "Since we hadn't completed any on-track testing before Daytona, the purpose of the weekend was to shake down the cars and find problems. By the second day we were working on setup and tuning." "We learned a lot about the Minis this weekend, and we still have plenty of work to do to prepare for the season opener at the end of this month."

ARGH!! I am so jealous of you guys! I lived in Orlando for three years, (over near Universal, worked for the Mouse) and now I'm back up here in Michigan. *sniff* I'm glad you guys are having so much fun. Hopefully, I'll be able to make a trek to FLA soon, so I can join up on one of your meets. To have MINIs racing in your backyard, and to have a meet where over 20 MINIS show up, you are so lucky!
Keep it MOTORIN'!
