Correct me if I'm wrong, [b]Holly[b/], but I thought that the park we are going to is off of A1A just south of Flagler Beach. The park is on both sides of the highway, and the pavillion where we will be meeting at is on the west side of A1A.

THE PARK IS RIGHT OFF OF A1A! ITS ON THE BEACH!!! I don't know why that map is coming up wrong, but I've been there...and that is not where it is!
I found these directions on FLAUSA.com
Directions: E. on S.R. 100 from I-95 to A1A. Right or south on A1A 1½ mi. to park. The park is about 3 miles south of Flagler Beach, and 18 miles north of Daytona.

OK I just drove up there... it's the easiest place on earth to find, no joke. If you are on A1A and you are awake at the time, you can't miss it!!!

Keep in mind if you are coming up from Daytona, the 55mph speed limit on A1A ends a little way before the park (drops to 45mph)... Be careful, I got pulled over there last year, as I was still doing about 60-65mph. (I was let off, cause the cop got a call for something important while he was writing the ticket!!!

So we're meeting at 12:00 or 12:30 on Saturday? Just want to check.

How long do these events usually run?

Yup... we'll start meeting at noon. For those of you who frequent the MINI-shindigs, it takes us a while to get all together. We'll leave out for the loop as close to 12:30 as possible :smile:
We estimated that it will take about 45 minutes to run the loop, so we'll be back around 1:30, where the food will be ready to be devoured. The park closes around sunset, so if you want to just hang out, or go down on the beach...its cool.
And one final thought for this morning... I MANAGED TO GET SUNDAY NIGHT OFF!! YAY!! So I'll be ready for some "Post-Loop Festivities." hehe...

 

Okay... The people at the park are getting PRETTY EXCITED about the rally! They have called several newspapers and TV stations... Geez...LOL. I just got off the phone with a reporter from Palm Coast wanting to know all about the "MINI Phenomenon." LOL. I'm still cracking up. She wanted to know about how we all got together and just the MINI "culture" in general. She'll be there Saturday to take pics for the paper. Geez... This is turning into something huge.

So what kind of partying do you want to do in Daytona? I grew up there, so I am familiar with all the hot spots. Lets just say that Daytona taught me how to party! =)

We should cruise A1A on Saturday night a little bit at least. I used to be in a car club in Daytona, and we cruised every Saturday night. It'll be a lot of fun with the response we should get from all the drunk clubbers! =)

Good Morning all!! Does anyone know what the weather is supposed to be like this weekend in Daytona? Because it's pretty nasty over here in Clermont right now. I hope it's sunny tomorrow so I can clean the mini!! Hope everyone has a great Thursaday!

 

It is very overcast here in Miami today, but I am still planning on washing our MINI. We don't really have time to do so tomorrow.

Hi Pepper White! Would you like a carpool from JAX? We're driving up too!

 

Geez, I got that last post wrong. We're driving "down" as in South from Jax. And that's "caravan" not "car-pool." If other Jacksonville drivers are interested...I'd like to meet some of those JAX owners that I've been flashing my lights at for 6 months!
