Damn it all, I knew there was more to this then what I saw at the motel.
So after seeing that, and no one saying anything about the rest being at the beach, I guess I missed a fun event.

Maybe next time.

I think we Florida Mini owners need to get an autox going...
I'll get some advice from the Mazda people and pass it on April 5th...
Anita Monkey says hi to all!!!

Spring Thing would not have happened without the efforts of two people. Sharon Priep (purplemini62@aol.com) and Joyce Priest (mpriest@intersrv.com). They are the ones who did the yeoman's (yeowoman's) work organizing, planning, soliciting vendors, packing the goody bags, etc. If you get a chance drop them a thank you. I'm sure they'd appreciate your comments.

I take it that you all went out for dinner Saturday and missed our Carribean dinner? The food was great!

Thanks for coming. I'm glad you all had fun. Hope you can come the the Ferman bash on 4/5. There's a special overnight rate for the Hyatt in Tampa for Mini owners for the whole weekend. I'll have more details later on. You all should receive a mailer on the event.

I'm so jealous of all of you, I wish I could have made the trip up as it seems you guys had an amazing time. I'm hoping to make it up on the 5th, hopefully I should be able to drive my car again by then. Keep the pictures coming!!

I think it is the one in Tampa. April things kind
of wind down here and I would think there are
cheaper places to stay. IMHO.

The Hyatt Tampa @ 813-225-1234 cost $89 per night for the event.
Already made my reservation.

211 North Tampa Street.

Ferman tried to get the Hilton Inn in Ybor City where the event concludes but they were booked. So the next closest was the Hyatt in downtown. there is a Residence Inn downtown as well as a Courtyard and the Raddison Riverwalk.

Going over to the intersection of I4 & I275 will get you cheaper rooms with a Red Roof, Hampton Inn, Comfort Suites, Holiday Inn Express etc.....

I am not familiar enough with Tampa to know where a safe and nice place is to stay. If some of you are going to stay at a different hotel, I would gladly cancell my reservations for Friday night and stay someplace with you guys to party.

Please tell me where in advance, or lets party at the Hyatt.

I have not seen a calendar of events, but assume Saturday is the big day, so staying Friday night at a hotle is the right thing to do, correct?

Downtown Tampa's hotels are going to be very pricie. So are the ones in Ybor city. I would look East of Tampa in the Brandon area around the I-75 interstate and Hwy 60 for lower rates.

Boy am I sorry I didn't have more time to spend with the MINI events after reading these! Really glad I got to catch some auto cross stuff though! How did the MINI's do overall against the Miatas in the end? I'll have some pics from that eventually too =)
