maybe at the hotel we can get together everyone's cell phone number and room number...might help out with all the stuff going on. How does this sound? Or should we start it on here (in PMs or Emails??)

For anybody that will be Autocrossing Saturday, you may want to go over the following checklist. Being that most of our cars are pretty new, I've elimited many items on a typical pre-race checklist, but here's the vital stuff:

Brake fluid topped off and clean
Brake lights
Parking brake
Tire condition and pressure (no punctures waiting to blow)
Oil Level
Windshield not cracked
Loose Items (seats, battery hold down, hood latch, LUG NUTS)

Beforehand or once you're at the AutoX you should remove the following items from your car to keep them from flying about or getting caught up on something.
Floor mats
Radar detectors
Cell phones
Garage door openers
Mirror ornaments
Toll pass devices
Wheel covers/Center caps
Metal valve vaps
Spare tire
Trash
Anything else that might fly around in or off of your car.

I might show up on Friday night to just say hello to everyone. I can't make it at all Saturday. On Sunday I can maybe get there after one or so. This meet is only about an hour from my house a 20 minutes from my work place.

For the young at heart try Ybor City's night life. It is a small version of New Orleans with a Cuban flare.

You can do it on the fly...
I forgot to mention there is a motorcycle exhibit
at the JFK museum(part of the Smitsonian) in downtown
St. Pete. If you are in to motorcycles plan to see it.

I'll be heading from Birmingham on Thursday. Gonna stop over in Destin, FL for the night with my folks and then will traverse most of Florida on Friday. Will look for others on the road!

Figured I'd post directions to the event's host hotel for anyone who's going Friday evening to sign in and maybe go go-kart racing nearby the hotel, or Saturday for the Swap Meet at the hotel.

For all of you South Florida folks you should take the I-275 turn off near Bradenton and go over the Skyway bridge. One of the great wonders of the Tampa Bay area. Great views from the top and some good places on the North side to take photos of the bridge and your Mini's.

used to live in Sarasota and can vouch that the skyway bridge is quite a sight. Also you can see the old destroyed bridge that got hit by a boat right next to it...scray. kool mini i would head down with you but ive got work (at mini) cant take the snow anymore.

Hey hey hey! See you folks in just a few hours. My wife & I will join the fun & excitement around 3:00pm Sat. Motoring from the flatlands of SW Ga. Laid my blue eyes upon my first Classic Mini in Atlanta about 3 wks ago & have not been the same since. Just about to explode with excitement upon the thought of getting a real close up view of so many CM's.
Later!!!!

My Mini won't make Spring Thing....the body shop
didn't order the sensors in the rear bumper. I was
on my way out to pick it up today and got the 'call.'
But I'll be there on my Harley....wouldn't miss it.

Driving over the Skyway at dawn at 120+ is also a wonderful site to see.

I'll be there Saturday, as it's only a 45 minute drive for me! Man, I love Florida! BTW, does anyone need a leather shifter boot? I ordered one thinking my Mini would come with a rubber boot, but it arrived with leather all around. I'll sell it at cost ($24.95). I also have my old standard Cooper gas cap if anyone needs that.
