dyno day

Would anyone be interested in having there car dynoed this coming week or the next? I am going to be doing some dyno testing of some parts (19%+4% crank and TMIC) and was trying to see if I could hold the cost down.

If your interested just say what day would be good for you. I will figure out the price per person when I know the total number of people.

Ryan, I added a link to this on the M2C2 forum. When and where were you thinking of doing this? Can you give a ball park figure if say 5 cars attend?

I'm interested in participating... I need to check the added HP of Alta Intake. 2HP

I'd recommend Carolina Automasters. He's got a very large garage we can use work on cars and we can run cars all day for $500-600.

Plus I got prior runs there to compare.

So get a dozen cars and have $50/person/30minutes or so on the dyno.

Let me know and I call Jeff to check dates.

I have been trying to get in touch with a few different dyno's but I believe everyone is off for the 4th. Hopefully I will talk to them tomorow.

I would like to be able to do everything on Thursday or Friday. 50-60 dollars a person sounds about right.

Thanks for the info. When you get it pegged down as to where, I'll post it on the M2C2 forum.

If it was around $50-$60 as mentioned I would be all over it.

I would love to get a run or two in my classic Mini (and make some final tweaks to the carb). I'd show you what 40 uncontrolable horses looks like
Hopefully I have a couple of the problems worked out by then.

So what happened? Did a Dyno Day happen? Is it still in the planning stages?

I'd be willing to participate at some future date. I have no mods to do, so a before and after is out for me, but it would be nice to compare a real dyno to the g-meter thing I've played with.

I apologize for not keeping you guys in the loop. What turned out happening was a local dyno guy called me back and told me that he had a few hours open but I had to be there in an hour. Well I ended up throwing everything in the car and took off to the dyno.

I will more then likely be going back soon to tune my AFC Select that is on the way. I will probably be going back to the same dyno. The place is located in Shelby North Carolina. If any of you are interested start throwing some days at me. The price will be $60 a run.

Another option for dyno, is in the Charlotte area. Dan From Pro-Dyno.net has a portable dynojet chassis that he can take anywhere in the area. He does my dyno tuning on my Mustang, but he's not limited to any particular car. If enough people are interested, he usually does discount rates. He's a real good guy to work with, tells you exactly what's going on, not like some of these cocky asswipes I've met in other shops.

You might want to check with Dyno Dan. http://www.pro-dyno.net
