May 16 Raleigh Mini Meet
#1
Right now, I'm looking at May 16 for a Mini Meet. It's two weeks before the holiday weekend and after the Dragon Run...unfortunately, I have surgery tomorrow so I won't be able to make it.
I need to figure out a good windy route where there are not a lot of cops around in case we want to break out the power of the MCS, but I am new at this so I'm hoping I have given myself enough time to figure this out.
Any takers???
Michelle

Sounds like a great idea. We would be glad to have you and the group from Raleigh area join us at the Charlotte Meet & Greet. I know it's a long drive, but it would be nice to meet all of you. We have several M2C2 members in the Raleigh area; maybe we can talk them into driving down also.
It's nice to see 1MiniGrl getting a drive organized, sorry they fell on the same date. I will try to come up to the Raleigh area the next time you have an event. I came up 3 weeks ago when 03minitiger84 had his drive in Apex and had a great time. 03minitiger84 is our M2C2 VP in Raleigh.
Thanks
George

George,
That sounds like a plan! Maybe everyone meeting here in Raleigh and driving down to Charlotte would be great! Unfortunately, since I had oral surgery last week, I haven't had the time to get a route together! I'd love to meet more MINI people.
If anyone in Raleigh is up for a Charlotte drive, I'd be interested in going to do that!

- M2C2 VP - I guess it's official. Now the pressure is on!
I'm just catching my breath and my tires have barely cooled off from the long week-end at Deal's Gap.
I too had thought about going over to Charlotte for the Meet n' Greet. If there are several from Raleigh area that want to drive over we ought to be able to come up with a plan for that.
I'll look at some maps and post some suggestions in a few days.

>>Cool!! We'll wait for Mini03Tiger84 to post a time, if not, I'm sure I can figure out a time to meet since afterall I originally had begun this post.
Sorry for the delay... I've had a busy weekend and not able to put a lot of effort on this.
We have about a 2 1/2 hour drive to the mall. Do we want a more direct route or find a backroad alternative?

It's all up to you...I can handle either way! Trust me, I know about the weekend!!! It was hot and nasty, and ew yard work sucks!!!!! Anyway, I'm not really sure about back roads to give suggestions, well, I kinda do, but I found that by mistake. Way country roads! May take us a little bit out of the way, but hey....if you need help, lemme know...I'm new at this, so it may take me a bit!

I know of a few backroads that will make for a nice drive, but won't add a lot to the time. One of the roads is even on the Miatadrives.com website...
At this point I would suggest meeting at my favorite place, Home Depot at Hwy 64 and Hwy 55 in Apex at 10:45 am. We'll try to get away by 11:00.
That should put us there a little early, enough time to clean off the bugs for the group patio parking.

>>Works for me! I'm not sure where that is, can you PM me with directions? I live over by Crabtree Valley mall in Raleigh. I'm very unfamiliar with Apex. Thanks a bunch, and I'll see you on Sunday!

From Raleigh...
Take US 1 south to US 64 west towards Asheboro.
Highway 55 exit will be ~5 miles.
Take exit, turn right at end of ramp, left at 1st light.
You should be turning into Lowe's / Home Depot shopping center
