when I click on the post in MINI Talk, instead of being re-directed to the present location of the thread?

Did I do a bad?

resmini, you do not have permission to access this page. This could be due to one of several reasons:
  1. Your user account may not have sufficient privileges to access this page. Are you trying to edit someone else's post, access administrative features or some other privileged system?
  2. If you are trying to post, the administrator may have disabled your account, or it may be awaiting activation.

Uh oh....

You've upset someone important. Keep your eyes open for that large black BMW 740L with limo tint windows and all the chrome and badges removed. It should be pulling up to your house any second now.

The men in the black suits are coming...

It means the post has been placed in to “Under Review” or removed completely and you do not have access to the area of the site.

I think it's time to let the dogs out.

No, you were just exercising your first amendment rights, which commercial forums such as this do not respect. MINI2 is even worse about removing threads that conflict with the interests of the sponsors. This thread will probably get zapped as well.

Mark, within the last 10 minutes the thread in question went from "moved " which produced the quote in post 1 above, to gone completely.I'm assuming it became a little too political to adhere to site guildlines and you know my feelings on that subject. Jock

Actually this isn't the reason it was pulled for Review (I found it by the way). We have a policy of no politics on the site (due to problems in the past for allowing it). As this post was reported for getting a little heated politically a moderator moved it review so we can review it today. Given that the original post was well within site guidelines we'll see if it can be returned sans all the political stabs.

Thanks

No that isn't the reason. When something is moved to our Review area a redirect link is not supposed to be left because everyone that clicks on it gets a permissions problem. I corrected this hence the link going away. As I said above we'll review this today and see if the political jabs can be removed. If so, we'll get it back into circulation.

Thanks

Its not a violation of your first amendment rights as the government is not surpressing you, its censorship which is allowable, particularly by people on their own property. Someone owns this site and has set forth rules. The moderators are there to enforce those rules and protect the "property" of the site owner and therefore they can censor whatever they wish. There are alot of internet forums around. If you don't like the rules of one, you can always find one that is more amenable to allowing you to express yourself in the manner you prefer. I prefer the manner in which this internet forum ajudicates itself as it encourages behavior that is more amenable to the spirit of the MINI

Is it not in fact, acceptable, and even healthy, to sometimes question the amicability point at which a post is determined to be unacceptably inamicable? I am generally of the opinion that amicableness is a desirable human trait, but it is possible for excessive amicability to stifle reasonable communications.

Do you agree?

My previous post did not address why the thing was censored, only that such censorship is in no way in conflict of the First Amendment

As Mark said, the thread is now in our under review area. If I get enough time later today I'll take a look at it to decide if it's worth cleaning up to bring back.
