Site seems to "hang' until new facebook and twitter buttons load

I've noticed that the site is significantly slower when it is loading pages that have the new facebook and twitter buttons. The pages without those buttons come up quickly.

Are there any tweaks that can be done to fix this?

Thanks,

Dave

Actually wasn't an issue for me until I loaded this thread; now that I can reproduce it, I'll see what we can narrow down today.

While I couldn't pinpoint the cause of the social networking bar taking so long, the tech team is on it; so hopefully we'll see improvement made soon.

Sometimes, as soon as the Facebook buttons load, the whole page reloads, this goes on and on, in a loop, until you navigate away from the page. It doesn't happen all the time, but pretty often.

Maybe management should lose the buttons, until they can fix it.

Facebook and Twitter as well as cell phone crap

I think it is the site worrying way to much about stupid kid facebook and idiot twitter crap and forgetting about the PC people that actually use their sites. It sucks that this site is sooooo slow that I rarly even use it although I do pay my yearly due's.

Complaining won't do any good because I already asked why it was soooo slow and never really got an answer.

I'm sure it is not my computer because NAM is the only slow site I have. Everything else is very fast. I have Road Runner Lightning and I'm telling you that every other site I go to opens almost instantly. Only NAM is slow.

It is a shame because it really is my favorite site but I get to bored waiting on it.

Submitting this will probably take at least five min or longer.

I finally dumped Internet Explorer and downloaded Google Chrome. The site loads lightning fast again!

It seems to be workinf better

I found it is working much better then before. I'm actually on my AOL right now and I'm pretty pleased.

Now if they just leave it alone and don't screw it up again it will stay fine.

New and improved is not always a good thing.
