Hi Kevin,

I've contacted Internet Brands about the issue, the ads are contracted out, but those ads have limits, and clearly that would be out of bounds.

Hey Kevin,

I would love to block such an ad from thensite, but I need a click through URL to do so.

Please post it in here and we will get it blocked ASAP.

Cheers,
Robb

Then there was the one I saw today on Erectile Disfunction...

why not log the adds then you can go back and check them.

I'm not sure what you mean?

The ads are served by external providers, in this case Google. Not something we have the capacity to log.

cheers,
robb

Aren't the ads somewhat based on sites you browse, Robb? For example, I browse a lot of make-up websites and thus get lots of make-up related ads on this site (and others).

You don't have the capacity

because you don't create it. This stuff is getting put onto your website. I've talked to other forum owners who a) keep a much tighter reign on allowable add content (what you don't want is configurable via Google adds as well) and b) have or write (themselves or by contract with others) added code to harvest other information. The lack of capacity to log is a choice that NAM is making.

It's all just software. Configurable software. You call can contact Google for getting help configuring what is allowable.

Not sure if this will work, but I don't frequent erectile dysfunction sites!! I just got an ad for one when I was browsing NAM.

PS-Didn't work! Now it wants me to buy pencils!

I'd almost forgotten that the internet contained ads.

Firefox + Adblock =

Ads don't even load, plus I can block annoying animated avatars/sigs on other sites.
