MINI of Mountain View just did the same.

The first time I got a Z4 (whose belly pan self destructed), then a 325.

Last time I had the 'pleasure' of driving a GM(?) Colorado truck from Enterprise.

No, actually not true. Enterprise is taking over their loaner program, but because the DMV has not processed the transfer of ownership, they can only give you crappy American cars right now. But they actually bought all the bimmers from LB that they used previously for loaners, including a dozen Coopers.

A lot of the dealers were loaning out BMWs thinking that it would entice us to buy one - like the MINI is a "beginner BMW." I was mad the first time Crevier gave me a 5-series as a loaner - I was hoping for a CVT MINI. If I wanted a piece of crap BMW, I would have bought one!

this is sort of what happened to me, except with a MINI -- L.B. gave me an MC40 as the loaner car after i dropped off my MC for service. i loved it so much that i bought an S, which i'm expecting in Oct. or Nov.
