SCD Black Wow Precleaner (wax/polish remover)

So finally, we are nearing the stages of finalizing our new wax/polish precleaner code named PW or PreWow (which is still unnamed). Like BW, it's super concentrated and only needs a tiny bit to work. Without BW it will improve the look of the trim, but combined with BW, the durability and looks are outstanding.

The intent of this product was to effectively clean off plastic and rubber trim of polish/wax residue without effort and prepare a surface for Black Wow. I didn't want to utilize solvents or typical cleaners that might dry out the plastic or require gloves for application.

These are the door handles off of MINICorsa's Jeep. These were the existing condition before I polished out the Jeep.

Just a small amount is needed on a MF sponge

A few seconds of wiping (almost no pressure needed)

Residue has come off.

It's now matte black and finished

Another Example (Before Cleaning)

After Cleaning but no Black Wow

After Black Wow

Release Date:
Expected by Christmas in limited quantities.

Shooting for Christmas. Waiting for bottles and artwork to be finalized right now.

I've been leaving the polish residue on my arches for photos. Tried everything to remove them, cept PW. Will document it and post it.

Sorry, it's fixed now. Had to relocate the pix to another server.

I'm in Taiwan right now...through the end of the month. I'm still finalizing some last minute details but the formula and bulk has already been produced, so I've provided some small samples to a few people. I will provide updates when I return back to the USA after the 26th.

Can't wait for the product release. Does it make cleaning wax and polish so easy that taping is not necessary? Or is taping still a good idea and then pre wow for areas that sometimes still get missed with tape?

Taping provides 3 benefits.
1.) Protect trim from wax/polish residue
2.) Prevent getting residue in the cracks
3.) Prevent the burning or melting of thin surfaces (not really applicable with a PC)

So yes, PW will mean you don't need to tape to prevent #1, but you might still want to use it in certain circumstances for other reasons.

Got a chance to demo BW and PW this past weekend in Florida at Autogeeks Detail Fest 2009 where I was an invited manufacturer.

Here are some additional pix of the event from my point of view

"Missing Element Black Wow Demo". I demoed both PreWow (PW) precleaner and Black Wow. Everyone that purchased a bottle of BW received a sample of PW that day.

A candid pic of Dwayne, lol

Some more pix in next post...of the Ferrari I worked on.

Towards the end of the day, I got a chance to leave my booth and touch up this Ferrari using PW and BW. Even though the trim under the car appeared to be more of a coating, rather than plastic pieces, still the PW/BW combo worked great. I didn't have high hopes on the mirror caps but it certainly did improve it.

Before

PreWow was used to clean up the wax residue and followed with BW

Richard,

Looks like the PW/BW combo did great. The paint on that poor Ferrari is another matter, though. Are those heinous buffer trails all over the car, or are they reflections of pleated curtains in the space where you were working?

The car was in the process of being detailed. I wasn't all that impressed..but I didn't see the before condition either. The detailer didn't tape anything off and he used a giant wool pad on a rotary for all the buffing.

The trails you see are wax that hadn't been wiped off. I still saw plenty of swirls in the light, but the detailer told the owner once it was outside he wouldn't see them....uhm...right.

Is this product for sale yet? Been looking for a link, but it eludes me. How 'bout a combo deal? PreWow and Black Wow packaged together.

Haha yeah, that's been planned all along. PreWow exists in one form right now that isn't quite ready for prime time. It works pretty well, but I'm waiting for my father to make some further revisions....so unfortunately, I'm not completely happy with the way it is right now.

I will let you guys know when it's ready.
