ShowCarDetailing.com (OctaneGuy) are Moving...

Hello everyone,

Just wanted to let you know that yesterday (Sunday) we got the keys to our new shop. It's a bit smaller, but we trimmed the fat, and have upgraded our location so we have lots of parking, a great office, and still the same services as before.

Because we are moving, and internet access won't be installed until after March 3, and all my inventory is in boxes, I'm really not going to be able to ship orders until after that.

Call me if you have any questions. If you're local in the SoCal area.. you can stop by if you need something in a hurry, just call me first.

(toll free) 866-707-9292

Thanks

Richard

Pictures will be coming later...

You couldn't move down to San Diego, I guess. I could really use a nice place to detail my Mini. Living in an apartment has many disadvantages when it comes to car care.

Haha FWIW, I can sympathize with you..as I also now live in an apartment. I do have a carport however but no access to water. So I got my Nomad for rinsing, 2 buckets of water, and a little Kipor generator for powering my buffers for polishing. It's not perfect, but atleast I don't have to setup an EZ UP. And yes I "could" do it at the new shop, but it'll be a couple weeks or maybe a month before we're cranking at full speed.

As a frequent visitor, consumer of your BW, and hopeful buyer of your pre-BW, I am glad to hear that you have found a new home. I went to your website last week, and received an error, and was hoping that you were not a victim of this economic downturn. Good to hear that you are doing the sensible thing (in downsizing) in these challenging time.

Best of luck in your new facility!

How bout an "i'd rather box it up and ship it" sale than box it up and move it... haha good luck at the new building. i never saw the old one and probably won't see the new one but i enjoy the video and the products you sell.

If you can tell me what URL you went to, maybe I can troubleshoot it. I was having major server hosting issues for several months and had to move my SCD site to a temporary URL..NoSwirls.com

Part of that move required me to change servers for the store...so the ShowCarDetailing.com/eshop was changed to ShowCarSupplies.com which is on a different server--they used to share the same Windows server.

Now SCD/NoSwirls is on a Linux server and that has created new issues--since letter case is recognized on them where on Windows servers there is no difference between logo.jpg and logo.JPG

Now all my picture files on the Linux server are broken...we're talking 12,000 + images.... what a mess.

Anyways..... the economy has definitely made it hard to do what I do. If it weren't for my friends at OCRODNCustoms, I probably would have gone under at the beginning of the year.

I really appreciate your support

Hahah. Well the old building was around 12,000 SF and we're going down to 4,000 SF. But we pretty much only utilized 4,000 SF of that 12,000..the rest was storage and junk.

But on the flip side, it's not just a warehouse that we had to improve--it's more of a corporate feel when you enter and we're taking great pains to keep things clean and organized now that we have a chance to start over. It definitely feels more like an upgrade with a downsize than a downgrade, lol.

Pix coming later.
