Brackets

Good info for me as I will be tackling the same task next week.
Thanks for the update.
Is it just me, or are those brackets identical?

Brackets, you mean the bushing holders? If yes, the steel portion is the same. But the insert in the bushing is tapered on the R56 where it's flush on the R53.

From our side, we are awaiting some more hardware and still have to machine a bushing.

Additionally, the caliper bracket will need a very slight bit of machining to further the machined portion lower down the bracket. The arm being larger means that it needs a tiny bit more clearance.

I won't have access to a camera for a while to show.

update

Visuals of what we believe will require modifications:

Lower shock bushing. This comes part of the R56 shock. I guess for all of you hoping an R53 shock would fit (on an R56) , you'll probably need this piece machined first. May be we should make a few extra sets ...

For the caliper bracket, It barely needs a brush to continue the machined surface - and one side only - just can't remember which one any more. Barely. We'll see soon...

Thanks for the updates on your project JP,
I was really hoping to have mine installed before AMVIV but thats not looking very promissing at the moment...
So far I have one R56 alloy arm and I am still waiting for the other side to find its way to its new home
It looks like we've got a bit more work to do than just plug and play but from your updates it still looks fairly straight forward after a bit of persuasion anyway. Please keep us updated on your progress.

Edit: Just herd from my distibutor that the other arm is on its way to me... finally!

We decided just to file the extra material needed to clear the carrier. Easy job... another poor picture.

I saw them at AMVIV...

and yes, they are there. Pretty simple peice really, but if you need it you need it. Erik was also talking some pricing for arm kits, but I'll leave that to him to talk about. Give him a call!

My R56 arms finally arrived late last week too late to attempt an install before AMVIV. Turns out to be fortuitous as I picked up a set of bushings there from HELIX. Hopefully that will make the install a much smoother experience. I'll be posting my progress once I get started.

Oh the PRESSURE!!!

Probably be my project for next week.
Problem is I've got too many projects going at the same time!
...and some of them aren't even M/C related!

If you are in the Bay Area of CA, and want any assistance, let me know...
