As a comics connoisseur, I can assure you that

Baldo = always dumb, never funny.

...much like Zippy, or Mallard Fillmore.

It's never even just trite and boring, like Blondie. Always annoyingly dumb and unfunny.

 

I'm hooked on Zippy the Pinhead, even though half the time I dont get it.

As for this Baldo strip, what's actually being said? Everyone is jumping to the same conclusion though. The strip's creator is not one that would ordinarily poke at any particular minorities, especially what the insinuation is that is going on here. It would be like finding a slur in "For Better Or For Worse".

Are you trying to say he's not making a negative insunuation in that strip ? I think the "even if they're blue" line makes it very clear since blue is considered to be THE masculine color.
