Do you think a swap to a MCS front bumper skin would be legal on an HS car under SCCA's Solo stock comfort/convenience appearance rule?

Weighs the same and has the same approximate opening for radiator. Therefore...legal?

Just curious what you guys and gals think!

It's my understanding that any aerodynamic modification is prohibited for stock (Aero kit, MCS bumpercover, aero kit spoiler, etc.).

Ahh, I didn't think of the possible aero advantage. Okedoke!

I just like the way the MCS bumper looks and they're cheap on eBay!

Per, no problem, as long as you don't plan on winning

Per,
Thought you might see this here.

Read your GRM blog about Brooksville. Not that it matters but the Pax results were wrong.

Should have been Pax Tom 35.67
Per 36.25 (would have been down to a 35.48 if you hadn't coned) Jason 36.28

(They added a cone on my fastest clean run Saturday, my true Pax should have been 35.15. They took it off the sheet but left it in the computer. On Sunday they scored my fastest time clean when there were in fact two cones; it was only a tenth faster than my best true clean run so it made no difference in the overall standings, as I was getting the car dialed in by then and pulling away.)

So, the point is only one car snuck by you on Saturday.

Sorry, you didn't make it back for Sunday. Weather was perfect. We ran the course backwards with some minor changes -- made for alot more shifting.

yea, if Kim was able to come, I would have gone in a heartbeat, but she had stuff to do Sunday as well...this Sunday we can both race, so we'll be back to our normal routine.

I swear, not having her there really hurt, as I kept forgetting to do stuff that we normally do.

That was a fun course, but a little frustrating to thread through cones in third gear...little bobbles really hurt that car's forward momentum! Definitely a G Stock course :-)

ahhh...index = .794 not .784. That was what was confusing me when I was looking at the index on screen at the timing table, it just didn't look right.

I also had the aerodynamic advantage of my front bumper :-)

Exactly! That 50 or so hp and the Lsd weren't a help at all!

Hmm... the 50 HP and LSD might be why the H-stock PAX is 780 and G-stock 794!

Anyway, dropping the taunting tone, it was good to see you and a pleasure to watch you drive.

Hey Tom,

Are you going down to Fort Myers for the Tour? I saw your brother is registered in HS.

Joe,

You know more than me. I didn't know my brother was registered. And in HS no less. Yes, I'll be there. My brother might switch to GS. If he brings his car down, Diane might co-drive with me if there aren't enough women to make a woman's class. You going?

Of course I'm going to Fort Myers. I can't let you have all the fun of trying to beat Carpenter by yourself. I am trying to get my wife to come down and drive in GSL. As long as she can get the time off from work she'll be there.

Jodi, I know you are lurking on here somewhere. Are you and Jeff going? Is the new '06 going to be here in time for the Tour?

I believe the answer is yes to both questions.

yes, the 06 is in! Its black and white too so, we thought maybe nobody'd notice the difference... We hope to make it down, but its not 100% yet.

Jodi,

If you make down it there would be a GSL's class. Three drivers needed for mini, I believe.

So, you guys bought a 2006? Congats!

Yep! Going to get a little bit of clearbra on the bumper area tommorow near where the junkman's trailer hitch will go...
