Platypus License Plate Mount

Anyone with the Platypus License Plate Mount when installed, is there a space between the bumper and the mount itself? Or is it touching it? Reason I'm asking is because I was expecting there to be a space but it's really touching the bumper. When I ordered it on August 13 I made sure I selected the F56 model. Now it seems like OutMotoring updated the SKU and I'm wondering if the bolt is longer?

There's a small gap. If you push on the frame, only the backing plate will touch the bumper - not the screws.

Mine actually was doing the same thing as yours but I was expecting this:

That's not my car. It's actually from OutMotoring.com. I've contacted the guys from there and they said they've made adjustments to the bolt and are doing an exchange. I'm assuming a little longer.

<strike>The mounting bolt for the F56 is also offset to the passenger side. The picture you posted has the mounting bolt in the middle.</strike>

Nevermind, I misunderstood your message.

Funny how you mention the offset. Cause after looking at your picture, when you attach the mount to the bolt, are you telling me the it's not in the middle like the blue R5X? Cause mine was originally in the middle. But regardless it was touching the bumper. The mount actually made a little imprint, but I'm assuming it's just on the clear bra (I hope) and not the bumper itself. But the plate would be covering it anyway. Sorry. Just picked him up last week so of course I'm extra **** about blemishes.

Yes, the mount is offset. I believe the mount comes in two styles; a standard mount and a lowered mount to accommodate the driving lights. I've used the standard for over a year and it hasn't left any mark on the black filler piece (that has problems in and of itself). That said, it will always be covered up and a replacement filler is only ~$50.

Yeah I saw that post. I hope it doesn't happen to mine. That whole black piece is only around ~$50? I was expecting more. But since I have the clear bra on it, that's going to be a pain in the *** to replace. But both are covered under warranty anyway. Thank for the info!
