Autocross pics

Took the Mini to an autocross last weekend and it was more fun than I thought I could have on 4 wheels. I out ran my buddy's 280Z so I had bragging rights at work

Great job!
It’s good to see people experiencing what these cars were made for. I wish more people go for it. These cars are more than just economical transportation. They were actually engineered for performance. Being reliable, economical and “cute” is just a bonus.

Very cool I just did my first weekend of Autox and your right it was extremely fun. It's nice to find the limits of our cars, though I only pitched it sideways a couple of times I don't see how these cars could spin out, but I guess it might be possible?

I got pretty close to a spin out once, but once I ditch the stock run-flats I'm sure it won't get so sideways. It was cold Sunday so we did our twisty route that we normally do on the bikes in the cars. My friend took his 911 and said he couldn't believe every time he looked in the rearview that "damn" Mini was still back there

I think my car would have spun on your runflats I have BFG KDW2's they are fairly sticky for a street tire. We had a M3 and a Carrera S4 out there with us, your right, on a tight AutoX course they have nothing on us

This was taken this past Summer at a Cumberland Motor Club (CMC) event at the Lewiston Collisee in Lewiston, ME. CMC is the local Maine club for autocross. We use SCCA classing rules, and I run in GS.

20K road miles and a novice auto-x season finished off the OEM tires. I'll be on Hankook R-comps and Rotas for 2009.

Cool pics. Hopefully I'll be able to get my wife out to the next event. I keep telling her she will have way more fun than she thinks.

Definitely! She has to at least try it-if not for anything else than to have fun! Heck, I even had a blast working the track after I ran!

You're in Pennsylvania and you're already autocrossing in February? I'm jealous! Our season opener is still seven weeks away. Enjoy your rookie season.

This was our second event two weeks ago in Oakland. It was a little on the wet side.

Rain events are fun

This was taken at our final event of '08. Hurricane near-miss.
