Do you have a scoop in mind or are you going to fabricate your own?
We have an M7 scoop that came with the DFIC inner cooler. We will try that.
We don't use the DFIC . . . it's for sale if anyone is interested! It's a good product for street use but has not worked for us in a racing enviornment. In fact, I have a Forge IC for sell too . . . same reason.
No reason to do anyting special until we see if the scoop concept is valid.
Randy
In the mean time, We are hoping for a cool day at Three Rivers!
I actually own a GP, and 'stole' the IC and installed on the #197. I tried to buy a replacement and they won't sell it to me.
However, no complaints . . .
I think they are doing the right thing by protecting the integrety of the GP. Lots of people (including myself!) paid a premium for the exclusivity and performance of the GP and it would not be right to sell the parts and create 'clones'.
I respect Mini for that decision . . . even though I would like to have the parts for the race cars.
I even went so far as having the GP aero package approved before I found out it wasn't available !

That's an interesting picture because the IC is brand new . . . never installed . . . ummmmhh ?
Randy
Evidently, there are only a total of 7 IC's in the Mini Parts system . . . or so the parts man told me.
This policy is relatively new so there are probably some out there.

Thanks for the support. We are cautiously optimistic for Trois Rivieres.
Unfortunately, I will not be able to make it to your event. After the race at 3 Rivers, I need to hightail it back to NYC and hop on a plane for a business trip to Germany.
It's getting really irritating the way work is interfering with my racing !

Thanks for the offer and give everyone my regards.

Trois Rivieres Driver Line up
The driver's for the Gran Prix of Three Rivers next week are:
Alain Lauziere
Simon Dion-viens
Owen Trinkler
Randall Smalley
We are excited to have two French Canadians as co-drivers racing on their home turf.
* Alain raced very successfully with us at Mosport. We are happy to have him back.
* Simon is new to the team but brings plenty of Trios Rivieres experience to share with us '3r' rookies!
* Owen co-drove to an 8th place finish with the team at Barber.
We have a powerful lineup of drivers at a Mini friendly track. Add in a little luck . . . some good pit strategy . . . and we are cautiously optimistic for two good finishes.
This will be the 1st event with the reduced minimum weight as well.
Event Sponsors are:
Cruise Canada RV Rentals
Four Winds RV * Casetech
Onan Powerplants * Hawk Brakes * Marren Fuel Injection
Miniusa.com * Castrol Motor Oil
Pieces d'autos Rive Sud * Les Entreprises Remi Charest

Not yet . . . but they are coming. We will NOT have JCW brakes for 3r.

Miller Motorsports Park Sept 12-15
Opening a new thread for Miller . . .
The driver lineup is already set for Miller.
Mark Congleton
Owen Trinkler
Rick Johnson
Randall Smalley
Rick is new to the team but brings lots of Mini Race experience. Rick campaigns a Spec Mini in NASA, ASA and BMWCCA. Rick will also be with us at VIR for the 6 hour enduro in October.
The Miller track is 4.5 miles long with laps times over 3 minutes. There are two long straights which will work against us but the rest of the track is very Mini friendly.
Miller is a momentum track with wide turns and lots of passing room. The race is combined with the GS cars so the wide turns will make it easier for the ST cars.
THIS RACE WILL BE TELEVISED on SEPT 23 @ 3:00pm Eastern on SPEED

Remember this picture that Propane posted on the Barber thread?? It's the 197 with the brakes locked up and tires flat-spotting going into the hairpin. Brakes are not supposed to lock up with ABS.
https://www.northamericanmotoring.co...0&postcount=13
We think it is heat related at the ABS computer. The problem only seem to happen when it's really hot. We made some changes for 3r and hope the problems are resolved. We have also improved the brake ducting to the front rotors.
We WILL test the JCW brakes at Miller on the promoter's test day when we have 2 hours of practice time. If all goes well, we run the JCW setup for the race.
