Hello again,

My 1st add on for my upcoming MINI will most like be Invisishield/ Clearbra (for the grille and front portion of the hood) and I was wondering if anyone could recommend an installer and estimate about how much I would expect to pay. I was thinking of having Schomp do it, so I'd have it done at time of delivery and not have to drop the car off somewhere else. But I'm not sure how great a job Schomp would do and how much they'd charge. I'll call my MA to get a quote, but wanted to check here as well to see if there are any better installer options.

Oh yeah, and how about tint? Any reputable installers?

Last time I was there, this past summer, they were tinting and clear bra-ing a Ford GT, and a Lambo. I was having my Subaru wagon done....all windows, 20%, Lifetime warranty, $236 total.

The guy in Denver who has been doing clear bra the longest is The Bra Man 3-934-1188. His name is Don. He just did my GP and previously did my 2003 MC. Schomp did my 03 twice and screwed things up so bad they have to have my hood repainted. Back then Don used 3M. Now he uses VentureTape. He is good; not the cheapest but stands behind his work with lifetime guarantee (transferable). Tell him Tim (GP1292) sent ya. BTW, Schomp did tint on both my MINIs and did fine with that.

Thanks for the info posted here - I'll check them out. My 2007 is on order from Schomp and should be here in late April/early May. Schomp charges $649 for clearbra, which seems a bit pricey. I saw some at their dealership that looked fine, others that had bubbles or were peeling. I think if I had it done by the dealer they'd stand behind it and make it right if needed, but at the same time would like to save some $ if possible.

Does anyone have any recommendations for a quality installer that guarantees the work, and that has been in business for at least a few years and be likely to be around for at least a few more?

 

just had mine done by Ben at ace clear bra. i recommend his work without any reservation. Incredible quality, good prices. He has been doing this for 10 years and knows his stuff. by the way he wraps th tape behind the body parts. the benefits are aesthetic and durability. Less film lines and lesser chances on the film lifting during washing etc.

Just stopped by Pro-Tint, S.E. Corner 14th & Wadsworth, Lakewood, 303-233-7315.

3M 12" clear bra on hood & fenders, head lites, door edges. About $350 with taxes. Will take 2 hrs - getting done next Saturday morning.

I actually used these people about 12 yrs ago to tint minivan (ya had those, too) and was very pleased with their work.

Our MCS now 11 days old & doing well. 1st gas fill-up 26.5 all city w/some heavy driving.
