New to Utah...Any Mini clubs?
You should talk to Karen at MINI of Murray. It's my understanding their is not a "formal" club, but rather more informally organized get togethers. Karen was the original focal point for that, I'm not sure if that's the case. There was an effort at one point a year or so ago to have a more formal organization to it. I haven't heard anything recent though.
Yeah... Karen organizes monthly MINI Meets. She can put you on her e-mail distribution list.
There's also a web page (though it sometimes doesn't work, and doesn't get updated very often. http://www.miniutah.com//
Also, if you want to race with the local SCCA club, here's their website:
http://forums.utahscca.com/ It's pretty active and a great group of people.

Hey, there are folks in CO
to Motor with, too. Check it out here in NAM and at www.MINI5280.org. We held nearly 40 club events in 2004 and the next trip to Utah will be early March on our way to AMVIV II. Check that thread...please plan to meet us on the way to Vegas on Friday AM. We hope to meet the entire UT MINI clan on the way down....

With there being not many of us MINI drivers here in Utah, the club scene is not as active as in other areas. Part of the price of local exculsivity - although I think that means we should stick together more. Also, being that my religion keeps me too busy on Sundays, and many of the activities are planned on Sundays rather than Saturdays, I haven't been able to participate in anything yet. I know Sundays are the traditional driving days, but that just doesn't work well for me.
That's affirmative.
We have folks who work Sat and cannot Motor. Worship Sun and cannot Motor. Work weekdays and cannot Motor.
It appears the work thing at least, gets in the way of Motoring.
Oh well, if you can make AMVIV I am sure others will need to find a Temple, too.

Hello all, my wife and I are planning a trip up to Salt Lake City right after AMVIV 2.
Can you help with what the average driving conditions are like from Bryce Canyon on up to Salt Lake. Last year it was 6 degrees in Bryce, but no snow. Was that just luck or was it the norm for the time of year? Need to get prepared.
TIA

AMVIV II Update
For anyone driving North to SLC after AMVIV II, the Colorado Group is leaving Las Vegas about 1 pm from the Hoover Dam..the last ride. We will head north to the I-15 / I-70 split then head East, but you can continue along North to SLC if you like.
We would appreciate your company.
Let us know here or PM me and we can visit in LV. There will be 7-8 of us, a small but merry little band. Believe me it is hard to find pp to convince that it is OK to drive 12 hrs, one way, for 2 days of fun. Then turn around and drive back.
If anyone else from UT or SLC area is heading down to AMVIV on Friday AM, we would love to meet up at I-15 / I-70 split mid morning, and go as a group.
Pls post here.
Thanks,
JPS

MINS Clubs in Utah
The MINI community in Utah is alive and growing. Karen at MINI of Utah told me her email list was over 400. We had 35-40 MINI at our monthly ralley this last Sunday on Father's Day. You may want to click to the Utah MINI club site. Things are "up-to-date" now and the site and club quite active.
