My friend and I are looking for MINIacs who want to motor through the Beartooth Pass and into northern Yellowstone for a day (possibly two, if you're coming from afar).
We roughly have the dates of August 16/17. Lunch in Red Lodge, MT for sure.
Other than that, we're waiting for responses if anyone's interested before we make more exact plans.

We're hoping to get some other Bozeman MINIs and other people in the nearby states to come on this rally too!

This is a sort of tentative schedule of times we have planned so far....but we're very open to change, too! We want to accommodate anyone that is driving here from further away (ie Wyomining, Helena, ect.)

Leave Bozeman 9:00am
--> Take I-90 East to Columbus
--> Take HWY 212 South to Red Lodge via Joliet
Meet at Red Lodge 12:00pm
Lunch at Red Lodge ~ 1 hour
--> Drive BT HW 4 hours
Arrive at Mammoth ~ 5:00pm
Head home

We'll be posting some more information on the rally this weekend. I spoke with Mel for an hour yesterday and we finalized some details for this rally. It should be significantly more organized and we have a couple neat things in store for everyone!

Yellowstone is amazing this time of the year so it's sure to be an incredible drive through the park and on the Beartooth Highway!

Andy - I don't know how I missed this. As you know MINI5280 did a Yellowstone trip on June 5 - 8 and had a great time. I'd love to do this with you guys but just don't know if I can swing it and MITM the following week. I'm going to try and make it happen though. Let me talk to the boss (my wife) and see how over committed I am already. Sounds like a great trip and hopefully will have much less snow then we had in June.

So let me see if I can get any MINI5280 members to go with me, see if I can find a room in Bozeman (I've got relatives in Powell as a back-up) and see if I can get my oil changed.
If I do this can we get at least one MT MINI at MITM this year?

 

I was actually planning on going to MITM this year, but a long lost cousin reconnected with me and it turns out she's getting married the same weekend as MITM. I'll have to wait til next year.....again.

 

Have her get married at MITM. She would have 200 MINIs as guests!

I would love to do MITM sometime! I'm not sure if it's in the cards for this year. There's a lot of question as to my employment situation so I can't commit to anything right now. But if it's possible I'll certainly try for this year or next! Actually, I have to look up the dates to see when it is and make sure it didn't already pass! :-)
