Looks like I will be able to make it afterall. It'll just suck driving to Solo II Nationals right after the race. Hopefully I'll have some Group 2 competition thought as it was a blast at Summit Point with such good competition.
Driving 3 days for a race doesn't sound all that much fun to me. Especially when your funds are being directed elseware. See you guys is Cali

It's to bad that some racers are opting out when the championship is
out of their reach. Can you imagine how the F1, Champ cars, SCCA would look without everyone following thru all the way.....to bad

Dave I agree with you that Randy or who ever has the right to opt out from the race schedule.
The problem is that there's very few racers in the series, to make
up a decent field of cars, everyone should try to follow thru making the series as successfull as possible. MAV TV is supposedly filming
the last race for future broadcast and a field of five cars is borderline absurd
for a MINI race series.
M7 will be part in next years series both finacially and as a major sponsor of multiple cars, so I'm praying for good attendance, and looking forward to
large fields of MINI's racing....

Your calling us out for missing one race? Where has M7 been all season? Why dont you give Randy a CALL and ask him why he isn't going? Couldn't be that he has to fly... I guess you feel like sponsoring cars now that there is more press coverage...

My choice of involvement has been clear from the first day, I spelled it out both here on NAM and on whiteroof radio. M7 is way to busy for me going racing or prepping a race car, so I decided that it was better for me to
sponsor multiple cars, in different race series.
And yes I will be at Buttonwillow, helping my boys....

I personally would like to see a West vs. East series. I would eventually like to join up, possibly next year, but I won't be able to make it out to any of the east races. Just too far and Kansas is as far east as I go.
I know we barely have enough entries as it is with the whole country, but it might be that most can't drive all the way out. Just a thought though.

To bad the fastest Mini in the country won't be there, as there may be a mini showing up that may change your assumption of such.
Where have you been brian@webb? Peter is sponsoring a bunch of cars and doing it right as he is also putting priorities first and not turning his back on any of his customers. I take great offense to your lame post here. You got some nerve I will say that.

I dont see anything lame in Brians post, for I do believe both he and Randy have completed more laps in the championship than both you and Peter combined.
As for turning their back on their customers, they did no such thing. They were just very busy is all.

I also am sorry I that wll not make it to this event. We just plain ran out of time getting the car put back together after the new cage was installed. Brian Normand, my mechanic had worked his tail off trying to get the car ready. His stress level was high knowing we had to finished yesterday inorderto be on the road today for the 12 hour drive from Louisiana.Anyway, hope you got your car ready Greg...If you show up, I'm sure you will impress a few fans.
Best of luck to all!
Wish I could be there,
Steve

Sorry guys, I didn't mean to open a can of worms.
I understand that the guys in NAMCC are business owners. I also realise how EXPEN$IVE racing can be... Transport, Car prep, repairs/repaint and all....
It ain't like we are in England where there is a race track every 90 minutes appart taking the long way.
Maybe if the NAMCC were a "rent-a-racer" program.... like in England????

Arrive & Drive!

Hop on a plane wherever you may live, bring suit & helmet and have fun.
Yes, I also am a business owner and yes preparing for each race is expensive for a long haul to race not including new tires fuel hotels etc...
For a season of 8-10 races, I'm sure the cost to arrive & drive only be slighy more since they would be providing the car. You can still race your own car in other events like BMWCCA or Nasa.
Getting Mini USA involved would be a tough but necessary battle to win.
My Thoughts,
Steve
ps: wish I were racing at CMP this weekend..ARGHH1
I have made the command decision about my company to put my customer's needs first, and unfortunately, that means not racing. With flying bringing in cash for the household, some very interesting things are happening here - some of which I have eluded to. We are not racing or doing pulley parties at the moment to be able to do the R&D necessary (something a lot of other vendors don't bother with) to make sure we have the best parts out there as well as answer our phones and emails in a timely manner. I am also working on real time chat on our website as well as podcasts.
If I were spending a week and a half to go to the east coast, I certainly wouldn't be able to focus on all of these important issues, and I will not have my business fall apart around me. As Brian stated, I am also scheduled to fly over this weekend (I leave this afternoon at 6:00 from Denver), so even if I had wanted to attend the race, I couldn't have.
I sincerely hope this series expands, and I think the arrive and drive concept is a great one. We have done nothing but support this series through its teething issues and our own. I want to be sure that is clear - Phil has done a great service to our community, and I salute him for it.
Enough of the haters - long live the MINI!
Randy
It's great to have you back on NAM --- Randy.
I'm really looking forward to seeing the new stuff you have coming soon. Thanks for all the great info and the performance parts over the last few years.
Congrats on the flying gig too, I know how much you missed it. I'm sure it's great to be back in the air again.
Most people know how hard you worked to race and keep doing all it took to keep your business rolling. We all know that giving up racing to have more time for your business was a tuff choice and we appreciate it. You could have easily just closed Webb down and used some of your flying money to stay on the track (I'm sure you would have kept winning). Then we would have all lost something really good. Thanks for putting your customers first.
Don't let a few people ruin this MINI group for you.
You have a lot of loyal customers here that are completely in your corner.
