I heard the same... or at least I initially thought that it was a stand-alone turbo.

This just in...

Randy won the first race and evidentally ran out of fuel while leading the second race. I didn't know there was going to be more than one race. Anyway, Randy's text message ended with - "More to come!"

So stay tuned.

It couldn't have happened without the sponsor's help so a HUGE thanks again to all who supported the effort!

Great job by Steve to keep it together with a ... uh ... creative line through the Karussel and come back for the win. Here are some photos. I missed most of the first race, but the second one was a blast to watch. Great job to all. Drop me a PM if anyone would like any of the larger versions.

End of First Race and Paddock

Second Race

Hey -

That guy filming Randy in your pictures from the first race is wearing a Speed Channel shirt - is there *any* chance this stuff will end up on Speed Channel instead of MAV TV? I still can't find anybody that gets MAV...

I am writing this from the hotel room after the race. I will post some pics and video when I get home tomorrow. Randy Webb won the first race with Steve on his heels the entire race. Not much passing during that race but the second race was a bit more exciting. The field sorted themselves out pretty much like the first one until about half way through when Steve Dinaz (MiniMania?) locked up his brakes entering turn one after the long straight and ended up going off-roading into the dirt. Well, the race was Randy's and he was a 1/2 lap ahead of the pack. It sounded like his car was missing as it went by me but I figured he was far enough ahead it wouldn't be a problem. From my vantage I lose track of the racers on the back stretch. That is where I lost track of him, he never came back out until the pack flew by him! Apparently he had run out of gas! I guess he hadn't figured out the new fuel mileage with the new twin-charged setup. He did make it back to the pits and for some reason his other car (Brian) followed him in. Not sure why he did that. He was running a strong 2nd place at the time. I heard he may have thought the race was over when Randy went in the pits. Yipes! Waylen came in 3rd overall in the 2nd race with a fierce classic Mini nipping at his heel the whole race, Waylens tires were shot and he was really fishtailing thru the S's. I fine bit of driving by Waylen to keep his car on the track. Overall it was a fun day and the weather was outstanding. The interaction with the drivers is great. You can walk right up and chat with them and you can sit right on the walls as the cars go by. No grandstands or traffic lines. The facilities were clean and airconditioned with plenty of shaded areas to put a chair up and enjoy the afternoon. Best $5.00 I have spent in a while!

Dunno. We talked to one of the MAV TV cameramen on the bridge, but he didn't know much about the network, I think he was probably a freelancer.

Brian ran out of gas. After the race he made the decision to always run with a full tank from now on.

Randy was having trouble getting fuel in the system, he had plenty in the tank, it just wasn't flowing right.

The LDG/Madness Turbo didn't run because they were over-boosting.
