I'm trying to stay out of this mess, as it is just that: a mess.
Here's where I stand: I have very little on-track experience and look to people who know more than me to help me learn - about both driving and safety. Safety discussion are very helpful for me when they can stay removed from name calling and people taking things as personal attacks. I love to see pictures and discussion of cars that are set up very well, so I know what to do, and ones that are not, so I know what not to do. I'm not saying any of the cars mentioned here are "wrong" and against the rules. I do think at least bringing up the points about things like the low harness bar (which may very well be within the rules, but the first time I saw a picture of that I though: "that looks kinda low to me"), long harness loops, etc are good because it makes me think about how my car is set up.
It's too bad that these discussions cannot really happen without people going off the deep end. But, I'm used to that when it comes to "safety" discussions. It's just too charged an issue for it not to blow up for some reason. I've seen it happen time and again in lots of different contexts (not just cars).

PS - The PM was in regard to skiploader's suggestion to actually make something happen - feel free to post it - but I'll make sure to leave you out of any real discussions regarding safety and the future of any sanctioning body decisions.

Since you're all of a sudden listening to my advice, I command you to fly out to Greg's house, hold both his hands in yours and softly sing "Do That to Me One More Time" to him while gazing into his eyes.
If you don't know the lyrics to that song, any one by Air Supply will do.
Now play nice.

Please no, this is the most entertaining banter that's been seen on NAM since Andy left, and prior to that his good friend Trippy.
Although I think that there appears to be a double standard here, when it's apparently OK for people of certain status to call others "morons" and for said folks accused of moronity retaliating with the "T-word".
