Actually, all you need are 2 cars to have a decent race.
And even if you had 22 cars, it wouldnt be a decent race until someone is fighting it out with someone else.
Take formula 1 for example.
Anyway, from the reports people have posted here it sounds like they all enjoyed the 2nd race immensely.
What is your problem?
I don't think that particular track could support that many cars at once. It just isn't setup all that well for a race. The straights could support maybe 3 cars as long as nobody had any sideways movement. Some of the locals who have driven the track on previous occasions (Fridays at the Track and such) seem to support this conclusion. Most of the races at Summit Point have been on the Summit track not the Shenandoah track (and sometimes on Jefferson).
Turbo cars had some reliability issues?
Hmmmm....? 1 Turbo car ran in the races ... of 3 present ?
I would like to hear how much difference the Turbo made in the cars speeds
Maybe the turbo mod isn't the answer ?

Glad to see everyone ran safe and clean
Hope to see the replay -TV coverage too !!!

Matt just told me about the races. Sounds like it was exciting. He is VERY pleased with his new M7 goodies.

I'm not sure who or what you are writing about but...

Not all races are on ovals and some ovals even require braking
The "big one" is usually in reference to restrictor plate racing
2/3 of the field: Really?
The stands are full
But if you or anyone else thinks that the race at the Shenandoah course was a success or decent -- in any way – knock yourself out; I'm not going to stop you from thinking that way.
Race report
We are really pleased to finally have some competition in the series. What a race it was.
As you all know Randy won the first race with Steve hot on his heels the entire time. We were kind of suprised the twin charged car actually wasn't stronger in the powerband, even with Steve's ABS gone he was able to closely tail him the entire race as you will see in the video. If Steve's ABS would have been working i bet there would have been more passing but trying to modulate an failed ABS brake system is no small feat, with little to no modulation the brakes tend to lock up often. I have some great in car video as well as the whole race shot from the bridge that I will hopefully post tonight where you can see all of this.
Race 2 was far more interesting with Steve beating Randy into turn 1 and was able to hold it until, you guessed it, Steve had to brake early because of no ABS and randy got by. A few more laps into the race Steve had another pass lined up when, you guessed it, 4 wheel brake lockup and off the track he went luckily with no damage. At this point the race was pretty much over until Randy ran into fueling issues and retired handing over the checked to Steve.
All in all it was a the most exciting racing yet and was a pure pleasure to watch.
Enjoy the videos! I will post them shortly.

Is there one I'm missing? (Steve isn't turbo-ed)
I love how there is so much NASCAR bashing on this site...lack of respect for there profession and lack of respect for there driving abilities. I would love to see some of the bashers and haters on here go out on a NASCAR track and try to compete against them.
Oh and not all of the NASCAR racing is done in the South....150 thousand plus fans in the stands and millions watching at home every weekend...they must be doing something right. NASCAR is where the BIG money is at...not IRL and Formula 1.

Seriously..I recommend going to one of the Richard Petty/Jeff Gordon driving schools and at least going on a ride-along...you will be hooked. I have been behind the wheel of these 800 horsepower beasts at Charlotte Motor Speedway, RIR, Bristol, and Daytona under the lights...next up is Talledega and Indy. Its a rush that no mini or other exotic car could deliver.

Correct just two turboed cars, ours and Randys. The Mad Dog car didn't run because of a stuck boost solenoid. the car was overboosting to 24psi. There was no programing above 18psi so fuel delivery was a problem.

There was the LDG car present which did not run.
There was the Webb car which did not finish.
There was " your " car which had soem sort of a turbo if I am not mistaken.
I think that adds up to three at the track which was what Red fury was asking about . Three turbos show up and yours is the only one running at the end.You must know something the others don'tLOL . On the other hand one out of three doesn't really want to make me get my check book out just yet. Carry on !
