Tow Hook Color

Is there any regulations or standards on what color the tow hook should be?

Who do you run with I'll look through the CRR (NASA), but I have never heard of that being regulated, or seen anything, like I said I'll check, though.

Thanks Motor,
I just thought that Yellow was a good color as it is denotes caution. Red would be attention. If there are no regulations I was thinking of light blue. I am going to use dip coating and they come in yellow, red, black and blue.

I'd like to be sure, I have mine painted in orange with a clear protectant coat; really stand out against the black. I just need to remember to get a second one for the rear (thats track days only I like to leave the front in). Of course my day at Phil Wicks I think I may have been the only MINI not competeing to have any tow hook in. (And the car that spun out sure didn't, and even had to use my hook to load it onto the trailer).

CRR says HPDE is strongly reccomened to have 2; race is required. No mention of color.

I did mine in Orange and nobody had a problem with it. More people at gas stations asking what they are for. I've been selling them powder coated in red, orange, black, blue, and lime green.

Red or orange are good high visibility colors. Many race cars have an arrow decal that points to the hook.
