I am trying to find a tow hook for my F56, non S. My intent is to use the hooks for tiedowns for a roof mounted kayak. I wanted to find the fold down hooks you can find on ebay for $15, but, they seem to be 1.6cm, and my tow hook measures 2.0cm. Has anyone figured out a cheap way to Tie down a kayak?

I use 3/4 inch webbing strap front and back. Tie the webbing between the two cargo hold downs in the boot. Tie a loop in the webbing under your kayak and use a conventional strap. The boot closes and the webbing doesn't bother the paint.

In the front I do the same with webbing, but, use a hole in the bonnet support frame and have only one loop. I tie my yak on the passenger side of the rack.

That is exactly the idea I was looking for. I didn't even think about the cargo hooks. I just looked at the spots now. It took me a couple minutes to fish the strap around the frame in front, but, I got it there. I may put a wire rope around it so I can leave it there permanently, then the straps can quickly be removed. I will also fab up the inner straps for the back with hooks, so they can be quickly removed too.
