2011 Countryman S Fuel Tank Vent Valve Location

All, when I put gas in my mini I can put about 50 cents worth in and the pump shuts off. I've been doing some research and it looks like this is probably my Fuel Tank Vent Valve.

Where the heck is this located? I can't find pics of it anywhere for the R60.

has anyone replaced or cleaned this on the R60?

Thanks!

If i remember right it is behind the left rear wheel inner liner. You'll need to replace the charcoal canister also as it gets damaged when people try to top up the tank whenever they fill it. Its a somewhat common problem with many makes of cars.

Hmm, that seems like an inevitable problem considering the R60 manual says to top off twice.

Yep ...... I've gone down that road with 2 different cars (MINI and a Saturn Sky Redline) and I've seen the issue discussed on a number of car forums. Now i stop filling when the pump stops and I dont attempt to 'top it up'.
