What part is this and other questions from newbie
I have a 2013 Mini Cooper Countryman AWD 4dr S ALL4 and appear to have a leak on my air intake boot - Air Mass Sensor to Turbocharger. Has anyone repaired this on their own? Wondering if there is an O-Ring under here but afraid to detach because I don’t know if there is anything here? Also, Turbo was replaced by dealer at 36k miles and wonder if it is needing it again. Is this typical?

Ok so 52 views in one day but no replies. Maybe this isn’t the place for my questions. Does anyone know of a good site where I can get some helpful and honest repair and maintenance questions answered for my 2013 Mini Cooper Countryman AWD 4Dr S ALL4? I’ve tried the Mini site over the years and never have any luck.
I had my part break but it broke at the turbo connection of the pipe. I just bought a whole new intake and it ran me about $150. Installation is hard just whatever you take apart put it back in reverse order. Not sure about that piece specifically on it just talking from personal experience.
Thanks Michael. I was thinking I should do that too. Is there a sensor right there where I've got it circled? Also, what's weird us the R60 seems to some have a hot film mass meter and not sure why the same model and year, some do and some don't?! Does yours have one?
I’m not going to lie to you and say I’m a mechanic as I’m not. I really have no idea about the individual parts on the intake just that I replaced mine because it cracked. I’d say you could potentially take it apart and see if anything looks bad. To replace it you have to unplug anything that’s plugged in so it shouldn’t hurt to take it apart. I know this probably isn’t helpful but again I’m not really a mechanic.
I'm not either which is why I'm here. I've done a lot on my own but not being able to find this in a diagram is frustrating. It is supposed to be air in that house by theory but some HS kid from a parts store told me it had oil in it and that's what I want to debunk. Thanks for responding.
Np I’ll help as much as I can. Pretty sure it shouldn’t have oil as it’s an air intake but I could be wrong. “Don’t think you want oil going in the turbo.”

You will need a whole new part:

You get a little residual oil and it seems to be leaking out of one of the seams.
Normal to have a little oil around the intake of the turbo. It pulls oil from the PCV. Thats why people run catch cans.
