Hi gang,

I did a search and couldn't come up with answers, so I guess this is not a common problem.

My wife's Countryman is completely stock with a factory Harmon Kardon radio. It stopped working as of today. It still displays the clock, but no channels, won't power up. I checked what appears to be the correct fuses and have had no luck finding any blown. It is still under warranty, but the dealer is a long way from home. I'd prefer to fix it myself and wonder if there's a hidden fuse that does not require pulling the dash apart.

The bing bong sound that plays when you insert the key no longer bings or bongs, neither. I'm going to go back out, start it up and check all other electrics.

Any thoughts would be well appreciated.

EDIT: Bing bongs work, and it seems all the lights, AC, bluetooth, and what not work...but neither of the key fobs will lock nor unlock the doors.

 

Beyond fuses first check is always battery condition. Strange things happen with a bad battery. After that road trip to dealers.

 

Okay an update on this issue. We made the trek to Mini of St Louis yesterday. They called me this afternoon and the radio is dead, needs replacing, and the door pickup (part of the rear view mirror) is bad and needs replacing. He said it'll probably be done in 2 or 3 days.
