Lighting Malfunction Warning

A few days ago I had my right driving light indicator go off saying it was malfunctioning.. I assumed it was the bulb, and drove home 2.5 hrs. A day passes and I go to start the car today and the battery was dead; I jump it and it starts right up but now have the lighting malfunction on and take to dealership. The lights are on, and will not turn off, no turn signals, fogs, or high beams. Just wondering if anyone has any suggestions? Thanks for the help

Beau

Checked fuses and did not see any problems.. also charged battery but bubble on top is black "insufficient charge" I am assuming the lighting issue is associated to the battery, or the other way around.

So heard back today.. the battery was bad but the FMR module in the drivers kick panel was bad.. $800 part ouch! Said usually from water damage which it was raining the day before I started to have the lighting issue.. so I must have a leak but I never noticed a puddle.. does anyone know where the r60 tends to leak.. I also noticed the interior fuse panel had leaves in it so they have to be getting in from the fender or fan etc.. any thoughts or help would be great!

If your Mini has a factory Sunroof the front drain tubes fall off and water runs down into kick panel. You can look easily ( I would think your dealer would have) by pulling the rubber trim down from around the front pass door, its not glued. Then carefully pull down the front corner of the headliner and look in. They are just pushed onto the drain tube and held by pressure. Put a 1 inch hose clamp and they will never come off again.

+1 on the drain tubes, check them, Or they get clogged with pine needles and leaves and the water dips over the edge.

Thanks for the replies, however I dont have a sunroof. . Should of mentioned that, guess I could of just been unlucky.. all fixed now.. still put a big smile on my face though when I got it back last night, however I will say I do miss the simplicity and how inexpensive my E30 was to work on although it is to be expected going from an 1988 to 2011
