Throttle Surging After Cold Start

Hi guys,

I have an F56 Cooper, B38 3-cylinder. Tonight I encountered for the second time an issue with the car surging or "bucking" with an ultra-sensitive throttle. The car had been sitting for more than 18 hours and it was rainy today so it was a "cold start".

I started and let it do it's thing for 20 seconds or so, backed out of my driveway and then the mayhem began. It went away after 2-3 minutes when the engine got a little warmer.

It's almost exactly as described here and here. It seems that this is considered "normal" for some engine and not normal for others (335i issue was addressed by BMW with software, in other cars could be fuel pump, etc)

So my question is: are other Cooper B38 or Cooper S B48 owners encountering this? Normal? Not normal?

Try green mode with coasting=OFF, fixes the surging and rough shifts.

I've got a manual, not sure what the coast setting is.

Is no one else having this issue?
