Losing favorite stations

Did a quick search through the forums and couldn't find anyone else reporting something like this.
Twice in the past 3 weeks or so I've gotten into my CM and started things up only to find that half of my favorite stations have gone missing. It's always the sat. stations that go missing too.
The funny thing is that when I go to re-add channels the first slot that connected tries to populate is exactly after where my favorite channels left off (slot 16 if I previously had 15 favs). Everything before that is blank though.
Sat. radio itself is working and fully populated in the direct interface and as far as I could tell the channels hadn't changed.

Just curious if anyone else has run into this?

Are you using the same key fob you had inserted when you originally programmed the stations? Each key fob holds it's own information on the presets, which I found out after a few head-scratching starts....

My thought exactly. The first few days with my CM getting things customized were a bit frustrating, until I realized that the fobs store their own configurations.

Yup, just using the single FOB. The other is tucked away in a drawer so I don't get them mixed up.
That it was only the satellite stations both times that went away was what confused me more than anything. I've started up and not had any favorites there at all until the next startup and re-read of the key before this too.

Random, but unless it becomes a regular thing not too big of a deal.

Yeah, my Sirius favorites went AWOL on me once so far. I mentioned it to the dealer a few days ago and was greeted with blank stares. I'm only using one fob at the moment, but I'm prepared to switch and reprogram the other one to be identical.

I have this problem, too. It happens about once every 6-8 weeks. I use only one key FOB. In addition to this, and maybe more irritating, is that when i turn my car on the radio defaults to a particular local radio station. This happened more frequently when I had and was using Satellite Radio (canceled it because I don't use it that much), but I still notice it using location radio. I asked Mini service to look at it and they didn't seem to have an explanation.

I haven't heard about this issue from my research, but was wondering if it sounds familiar to anyone else?

do you unlock with the fob or door handle button? the manual says if you unlock with the fob, it'll use that fob's presets even if another fob is near by.

Y8s,

I try to only press the button on the handle (except when it doesn't' work and I have to use the remote). There doesn't seem to be a correlation, though. It can happen when I am no where near the other fob

This happened to me too. Sometimes, after it had forgotten all my presets, I couldn't even change the station.

I went into the dealership and told them about it. They said it had to do with some electronic component. I wish I could tell you what it's called, but they didn't give me the specific name. Anyway, they replaced the part, and I haven't had problems with it since.

This happened to me yesterday. Presets 1-12 (my XM presets) were blank, but my FM presets in slots 13-16 were still there. The XM radio still worked, and I was able to save them again, but it was a pain. I've had the car for about a week and have been using one key fob the entire time. Weird.

Anybody have any idea what causes this?
