I hate the ride with pirellit centurato runflats!
These ride so firm, so rough, that going over any bumps, jars the car, and causes unnecessary rattles and noises inside the car. I have pirelli pzero runflats on my MCS JCW stage 1 conv and they ride pretty good. But they are 17", the CM has 18", maybe that is part of the problem, and maybe the rubber is harder on the centuratos.

Let's face it, run flats suck, period. Rough ride and noisy and as the OP said, the bigger the wheel the worse they are. I had 19"'s on my 335i and I absolutely hated them. When I finally switched them out for non-RF's it was like a different car. My only regret is that I didn't do it sooner. My first trip in my new MINI will be to get the RF's taken off the car.
Mine came with the 18" Goodyear run flats, and sport suspension. I just recently switched out to 17" Nokian WRG2's for the winter, and can't really say it made a huge night-and-day difference. To be clear, I did notice slightly less noise, and sharp bumps don't telegraph quite as much. But with all the run flat hate around here, I would have thought there would be a much more noticeable difference.
Just purchased from another member here, bridgestone dueller H/P sport RFT tires he took off his mom's CM, with only 733 miles on them. Did not get them yet, but I will see if they ride better than my horrible pirelli's. Going to swap them out. Will keep u posted.

i have the 225/45R18 pirelli p7 runflats, sport suspension and run 36 rear and 42 front, getting very even wear, smooth ride, excellent handling
i used a racer friends tire pyrometer and chalking the tire edges to arrive at those pressures
don't know if they are right for any other tire except the 18" p7 pirellis

I finally swapped them out for the bridgestones as I mentioned in an earlier post. They are sooo much better. The car now rides nice. I disagree with the statement ALL runflats suck. NOT true! I have bridgestone runflats, 20" OEM on my 2011 BMW X5 50i, and they ride fantastic. The fact is the bridgestones ride much better than the pirelli's do, period.
I agree that not all run flats suck. It depends on the specific tire and application.
The Pirellis were standard on our R53 with sport suspension and the ride was nothing short of brutal. Switching to Conti's RFT's helped a bit, but we eventally had to go to non RFT's to make the ride tolerable (and I have to add that the car lost some of it's sharp handling, but we did go with a tire with a soft sidewall...Conti DWS).
Like Rans09vert, we have an '11 X5 50i with 20" Bridgestone summer run flats, and we do like the compromise of slightly stiffer ride and sharper handling. We use Pirelli RFT winter tires and they are a bit softer riding than the summer tires.
Our CMSA4 (standard suspension) came with 18" Bridgestone RFT's. With all the complaints about run flats on this forum, plus our previous experience with the R53, we were very nervous about ordering 18" wheels and/or the stiffer suspension. (none of the dealers had any CM's with 18" wheels and/or sport suspension equipped CM's to test drive), but we really wanted the look of the larger wheels, and we are fine with the tires thus far (1200 miles).
