VIP Customs AIRVIP 3

The claim on the website is 10HP gain @ 4650 rpms. I have the JB+ and no other tuning/engine mods. Will I see any HP gains if I add the VIP AIRVIP 3?

This is one of the first mods I did to my CM and I did notice a better acceleration.

Mostly though, THAT NOISE! I LOVE that noise! Makes driving it so much more visceral hearing my car sucking in air and exhaling. So much fun

Has anyone found a dry type (AFE) filter for the VIP?

Yes and no. I did the Build Your Own on the aFe website for the biggest size I could get to fit under the bonnet (invoice reads A/F PDS; 2 3/4 F x 6 B x 4 3/4 T x 7 H in). The problem then is that the heat shield won't accommodate the larger filter. I bought some longer bolts and spacers and raised up the heat shield about 1.5" and it worked out great. I'll get a pic this evening and you can see what you think.

Note: This was for my wife's Clubman, but should work the same for the Countryman.

Pictures as promised. Looks like I'm getting a little rust on my spacers. I'll have to clean them up some next time I clean the filter.

Did you order red special? On the website it says black finish.

Back when I ordered you could get red or black for the same price. I was bummed that it was R5x only and I couldn't get it on my R60. (I went with the black and then later switched to the DoS intake, but that's another story.)
