That's pretty much the only message. I'm not in NA but had to order the wing from a seller there who could get one from BMW US and ship it back to the motherland.
The wing seems to have been a very common mod for Coupés (and with good cause, because it totally fixes the divisive look of the roof) but I've found remarkably few images online of Roadsters with it fitted. Literally 4 other cars, and 2 of those are a single low-res image.
I think my Roadster is really coming together. We've got GP2 components such as the scuttle & diffuser, we've got the wing, we've got shadowline rear clusters but the original chrome surround. The interior has a Cravenspeed shifter & brake handle, which really aren't too common in the UK!
I guess you can never say never, but I've got no plans to ever part with the car for a number of reasons - the money spent (so far) bringing it to the spec I really want, and the fact that Mini's 3rd gen never really appealed to me, and the 4th gen has moved even further away. As a kid I always loved the classic Mini, and I also always wanted a roadster-style car in general, so there's nothing that suits me more than this! It was also one of the last things my late father helped me to buy so it also has a lot of sentimental value.
That said, cars sadly don't tend to last forever so if I'm ever in the unfortunate position where the car is no longer viable then I'll at the very least look for new homes for some of the rarer parts.
It's the OEM one, part no 51622218751. I bought it from Turner Motorsports in the US about 6 months ago, unfortunately they're no longer listing it as available (when I enquired they said there were only 2 left).
Makes sense unfortunately. Given how uncommon the 2-seats ended up being, and how expensive the option was, then BMW can't have had many productions runs of the wings made.
I have no idea of the quality of it, or how trustworthy the company is. Looks like it fits over the existing active spoiler so that would need to be deactivated or your new wing will lift at 50mph+
So out of curiosity, what happens to the moving spoiler mechanism when a fix spoiler is mounted? Is it disabled somehow?
I don't particularly intend to mount a fix spoiler, but disabling the spoiler could come handy in some situations I've unfortunately run into in the past.

With the OEM kit the mechanism is removed entirely. I'm not sure there's anything else that would hold the actual spoiler on with the mechanism removed! If you want to temporarily disable the spoiler you could just remove the fuse but you'll get the car constantly beeping at you that it can't raise the spoiler, so you'll need to get that coded out of the car, which is something I had to do separately to the wing install. My official BMW dealer couldn't do it and I had to find an independent specialist.

I see. That confirms my suspicions. Dam you BMW for not allowing disabling the spoiler or at a minimum spoiler sound. I have been in a spoiler fail situation on a road trip. Super annoying. It was a horrible experience being so helpless with the beeping gong on and on and on!!!

And don't forget your passenger asking... "Can't you just turn it off?"
I was lucky to never have to deal with it for more than a few minutes, in fact the 30 minutes to the garage to get it taken care of was probably the longest I suffered.

I am not sure but I think this can be coded out with BimmerCode. I should look into it. If it ever happens on one of my long trips, I don't want to be driven nuts by a ding, ding, ding the whole drive.

I was chatting to a guy on another Mini forum who'd had a similar issue this year, he has BimmerCode himself and couldn't find a way to do it. The garage he used to fix his had access to an app called BimmerTools. Not sure about the people who sorted mine as I went shopping instead of waiting about.
