I've been doing a little research on how many roadsters were produced, but I haven't seen any solid numbers (just general Mini production numbers). Does anyone know how many R59s were made? I am thinking the numbers are pretty low. I like to think I have a somewhat unique vehicle.

Not many , library of motoring does not really have the numbers place either unless you add up all years sales of roadster per year. They have some, ''
BMW press site has them worldwide and you will have to looks up every year and in he UK its one year early. so 2011+
I remember seeing the figures quite a while back. It seems that total production was less than 25,000, US sales less than 9.000, maybe closer to 8,000. Believe the 2015's were the fewest, and the 2013 the most produced. But I could be wrong, still hard for me to remember where I left the keys!
Sad they discontinued this model. Great styling, reduced wind disturbance in cockpit due to rake of glass and you can quickly store up front cargo/valuables in trunk via middle lockable door between seats while going in store and leaving top down....cant do that with the other rag top.
I do like the roadster, but I can't see it ever becoming a collectible. Well maybe if you parked in a garage for 30 years and never drove it it might be worth what you paid for it adjusted for inflation. The GP and GP2 aren't even collectibles and they made fewer of them.
Too early to say really. They are not old enough to determine that. In the 60's and 70's they said the same thing about baseball cards and matchboxes...and I chewed up a ton of collectible cards worth crap load of $$ in the spokes of my bicycle.
US total sales so far

2012 2880 2371
2013 2540 2806
2014 ..460 1103

anyone have production figures for the JCW roadster? I was thinking less than 400 in the US.
Hopefully someone will chime in with an answer, but I have a feeling that the production numbers for R59 JCW may have been kept internal to BMW and never released publicly.
Maybe I'm wrong about that which would be good news.
The information does exist easily available out there, but it'd be a laborious time-consuming task to collect and collate it all.
Numbers could be compiled by using one of the various VIN decoders as they were clearly identified as JCW,
here's a random VIN found on quick search showing the top portion of the build sheet:
I'm an R53 guy and we were attempting to do the same and figure out production numbers but have yet to have concluded anything definitively, but a pretty good guesstimate nonetheless, some of the techniques mentioned in that thread could be utilized for hounding out R59 JCW...

Certainly seems like you may have first off the line :P That's pretty cool.
@ Chris V, very nice color combo, that's actually what I want to change to. Currently BRG and the Light beige color, it's close, but not quite right. The toffee + BRG is perfection imho
