R59 Window Clearance
Window Clearance
New guy here, searched around and didn't see anything, i may be blind. Is it normal for the window on the passenger side not to go all the way inside the door? My drivers side goes all the way down, but my passenger side sticks up just a little bit, maybe a quarter of an inch. The dealership says this is normal.
Thanks!

I'm waiting for my Roadster, but my previous Convertible S had a similar problem with the driver's window not completely closing (about 1/2 inch), as well as something rubbing on the glass when it raised and lowered that left a 1/2 inch vertical streak from top to bottom. My dealer adjusted it without a question at my first return visit.
If your dealer says "it's normal", have him show you the same thing on another Roadster in the showroom.

Thanks, I think ill do this when I go in for the first oil change, it looks like they were able to get it down a tiny bit, but the window is still above the frame on the inside of the car.

Sent and email to the service rep with a cc to his manger today, hopefully they will try to resolve the issue. I really don't want to be in a loaner for another 3 days without a solution. Heres a pic, maybe i'm too picky.
You may be "picky", but to me, being able to rest your arm on the door with the top down is part of the Roadster experience! While it's not a critical or safety issue, your pic is definitely "Not Normal" (as MINI marketing says)! I just waited until I had a regular service appointment for an oil change, and they fixed it in about 30 minutes. The body shop tech just popped the door panel off and made some adjustments, no parts needed, and you shouldn't have to need a loaner for 3 days.
For anyone curious, mini had asked me to do this survey on my satisfaction with the service issue. I ended up going back to the dealer, who told me they have tried and the the window can't be adjusted any lower. I stressed the point that the drivers side is fine, and couldnt see why the passenger side would be any different. I assume its a symmetrical car. They opened a technical case, and had it magically fixed 2 days later. I thought it was funny how what I was told was impossible twice was fixed so quickly. They claim to have adjusted the regulator. They did spend half a day water testing the window as they were afraid of leaks.
I thought to look at mine yesterday and one is very very slightly lower than the other but both are below the outer seal edge and visible from the inside.
I do not feel the window when resting my arm on the door.
