Hello Everyone,

My wife and I just ordered a mini cooper S roadster. It’s officially her daily driver's car but I’ll be driving it every weekend I think

This is what we ordered this past Saturday and I can't wait to get it!!! The dealer told us 6 to 8 weeks I really wish it would be much sooner . . .






I’m new to mini so I’ll be a newb for a while with probably a lot of questions . . . .

I'm quite an active member of sweedspeed.com (same user name TG) for those who know, and this is my precious ride I own since 05, and to which I made quite a few appearance and performance modifications:





But enough of the Volvo . . . I'm very exited about our new adventure with the mini and we hope it will be a great experience!
I am looking forward to participate to this forum and learn as much as I can about Minis

Is that a new color this year? Very nice! Ours is the lighting blue with silver stripes, but a similar light color interior. We love ours!

. . . to answer your question Franny, I don't know if it is a new color but from what I've seen online I think they had it in 2012. They still have the other blue which looks beautiful as well. I probably would have went with that one if it had been just me choosing...

And yes we did go with a light interior. . . honestly it's just a little more maintenance BUT the big plus is the seats don't get has hot under the sun
I've always love light or colored seats. It's the first time we are able to get a car with it so we're thrilled.

Fabulous looking Roadster! The wait is worth it... at least I hope it is as I've been waiting 11 weeks and it looks like another 2 more. This has been a lesson in delayed gratification!

 

Haaaa don't say that . . . I was just about to ask what you guys had to wait . . . I saw somewhere that they sometime close the factory during the summer (likely August). I don't know if it is true . . . It is going to be really hard to wait this long. I don't think I've been this excited about a "purchase" since a very very longtime!

 

You're wait could be much less than 11 weeks. You're on the east coast, cuts down on the time on the ship by a great deal.

I placed my order in early June and my MINI will be at the port in Baltimore in 5 days. Should be at the dealership a few days later, a total of 5 weeks after I placed the order. And that's counting a 9-day wait for a ship at the port in Southampton.

 

Cool config. Just picked up a 2013 and will post pics in a few days. Quick question, did you order a 2013 or 2014?

 

Congrats TG. I know you all will love the car! Looks great. So I am assuming that the car be a 2014? I ordered my 2013 on July 3rd of last year. Got it in less than 6 weeks.

 

Well apparently so. it is a 2014... We had such a hard time at the dealer.
Everything was so confusing because the website configurator (2013 feature list) was not matching their computer ordering configurator (2014 feature list) and that took away some of our purchasing power because we had to consolidate everything we wanted back again. That was a bit of a mess . . . and that's not even mentioning that the young man didn't really do his homework and was not very good at knowing about the configurations...

2014 . . . I found that really bizarre though, it was still the first half of the year when we ordered....
