Question R59 Bottom Console LED Lighting - Y / N?

Hi all R59 fans, just wondering does the bottom of the center console in your Roadster have an LED array? I noticed there is a hole for one in mine, but no LEDs. Is this just a UK thing may be? Here is what I am talking about from a great looking UK Roadster...

My 2012 Roadster has the light in the cubby, but my wife's 2012 Clubman doesn't.

Interesting, thanks guys! I took my R59 to the dealer to have the satellite radio repaired, oil change, possible missing console light, etc... and the BMW rep noted "no light present - no action taken". May be this was a running change during the 2012 year? The 2012 loaner Clubman they gave me had the hole but no LED array as well.

Have the light but my connected ports are up top just under the heated seats. Have to say yours looks more user friendly. Last time I had to plug in y cable had to lay on floor to see it.

I've got them! Also up on top next to the convertible top release handle, and in both doors! I love the fact that they can be changed to a number of different colors!

Hmmm, appears BMW forgot to add the LEDs on some early 2012 R58/R59s. While I was in for an oil change I had the tech look into it. The service report reads "no console light present - no action taken". Seems a premium manufacturer would have pulled one out of their parts bin and added it, considering I did not receive it when the vehicle was new.

Here is the part number, Possible if the wire loom for the extra light is present. You will have to check behind the lower panel. But I believe you will have to tap into the led light module wires for power above on the overhead or ones going to the doors. There looks like a new cover with the hole in the center, not available yet. But you could always cut a rectangular hole for the light to snap into.

Looks like it was 3/2012+ when they made the switch. R55 R56 R57 R58 & R59 models Part will have to come from overseas. #14 in the diagram.

Hope that helps you guys out with the led mod.
