A new issue for a new day

So had an aftermarket exhaust, cold air intake, and intercooler installed. After finishing up my car throws a cel. Cylinder 2 misfire, compression test, switch coils, reset ecu, test fuel injector. Still in cylinder 2. Shop check's ecu to coil all good.

They reset the ecu then checked for voltage to coils and two had 0 volts. Ordered a ecu on eBay for 110 dollars. Shop cloned my ecu and replaced. All is good now.

They are blaming it on shorted coil, something doesn't seem right to me. Wondering if they grounded out the coil wires when adding the ddm Cai.

Any thoughts?

They shouldn’t have touched the coils when installing an intake... it is POSSIBLE that the coil going bad was just a coincidence. Regardless, changing the coils and plugs is good maintenance.
